sounds like someone has overtightend it and stripped the threads on the captive nut inside the chassie , i have the same problem.

was going to cut the head off get the anti roll bar out of the way, cut the old plate with the captive nut out.
make a new one and weld it back in.

its alot of work but someone has done this in three different places on my saph the TITS.

unless there is another way to save all of this hassle ?

hope this helps mate

As said the captive nut sounds like it has came off, they are only spotted on and it is quite common for them to come off, what we usually do is pull the carpets back then in the footwells above where the nuts are in the chassis rail cut a coulple of the vent looking things out so you can get a socket on the nut.

however the two that have captive nuts are small 13mm's on the chassis.
the big 19mm is the one that goes on the end of the anti roll bar through the TCA

if this just turns then the anti roll bar thread is stripped, not heard of this happening as its a big thread, but i suppose that its possible. you can pick 28mm cossy anti roll bars up for abut 20 quid so if you cant figure it out just cutting it off isnt the end of the world

the one on the end of the arb is 24mm
the one on the inner tca is 19mm
the ones on the arb to body mounts are either 16mm or 17mm (i've found both on sierra's in the past)

There is a much easier way of sorting this, simply grind the head of the bolt off, then weld a nut onto a coat hanger etc and feed through the hole allowing you to put a bolt through again to tighten back up, cut to lengthy leaving say 1" poking out hole, there is a hole in the box section that can be used for this right near the bolt holes, so no drilling cutting welding etc.
