I have read that the calibra turbo pistons fit inside the rs2000 engine but the con rods need to be machined so the piston pin fits, has anyone done this conversion and got any info on how it is done?

The pistons can be made to fit the zetec, not sure about the RS2k though. Pistons are soo cheap these days would it not be easier and less hassle to buy new forged ones? you will need new rings anyway. How much power you looking for? i put a decomp plate on my old sierra 2.0 dohc, for £117.

I am trying to build this on a budget so new pistons is out of the question the bore and stroke is exactly the same on both the l4 engine and red top turbo so should be less work than a ztech and as I already have the pistons to do this I'm now committed to doing it this way. I'd be happy with 250 bhp

I think you would get 250 with std pistons and a decomp plate, @ a bar of boost on a good sized t3 turbo. Are the gudgeon pins the same size on both c20let and I4? if the bore size is the same then its easy i suppose, give the bore a hone and put the pistons in with a set of new rings. Worth bearing in mind that those pistons arent forged though, just good quality pressure cast items what engine management are you running?

The con rod wrist can always be re-sized, speak to your machinist, depending on which way needs sizing it may just need a sleeve pressing into the rod, so money wise won't break the bank.

try PEC, performance engine components, ive used them before, better idea than mucking about with the wrong pistons etc
