My 2wd sapph is bleeding heavily from around the sump. Bolts keep working themselves loose, and it looks like its had several previous attempts to seal it over the years. Its a 200 block with a 2wd sump.
Does anyone know the best gasket to use, and if you can get the sump off in situ ??
Thanks

Yes the sump comes off in situ, after lowering x member etc to clear.
I've just installed a cometic, heard a lot of good things about them, with loctite 5900 around the ends of the half moon seals.
Are you 100% sure it's the sump, the oil pressure switches leak and spray oil all over the side of the block(as they point upwards) and this runs down and finds it's way all around the sump esp that side.
My switch leaked from between the plastic inner part(with the terminal in the middle) and the metal outer case part.

doing my head in
fix one thing, then something else breaks.. is this the general rule of cosworth ownership. im only 2 weeks in and im starting to loose hair already.
NO they can be totally reliable, unfortunately a lot have been through hands of bodge artists or people, who couldn't/afford to maintain them.
I would check the gasket between the turbo and the drain pipe on it, if leaking around here it will dribble down the whole pipe on the outside.
