Std is around 0.7/0.8, so I would open the ecu and see if there is a different chip inside, if someone has simply upped the boost by body means it could kill your engine, by not having the fuelling to go with it.
If it's new to you, best thing is a mega service, everything inc new fuel filter, fuel pump rewire, fan rewire, change cts and ats, then get it set up/adjusted on the rollers for a fuelling check.

Must be chipped, if standard they hit a serious boost cut after 0.7/0.8 BAR, to tell open ECU and look at chip almost certainly will be stage 3 at that boost. Also look at the colour of the injectors will most likely be green (803's) or Blues (400's)

as said check the injectors and chip which will at least tell u what power it may be running, is the turbo a t3 or t34?!! Also silly question but didnt the previous owner tell u what spec it was before u bought it?! or any paperwork?! Either way deff worth getting it somewhere for a check over just to be safe!

Just like I thought thats a stage 3 conversion not 1, turbo is certainly a T34 not a "Group A" what his saying to see check to what markings it has on it.

CTS= Coolant Temperature Sensor this is a thermister that supplies ECU with coolant temperature info hence the name.

ACT= Same sensor in diffrent housing but this measures air temperature instead and is screwed into plenum.

They can go out calibration but never had a problem with mine so never touched.

Yes for the boost it's running along with green injectors and probably has a T34 turbo as well.

It al sounds fine 2 me m8. Take 1 ov the plugs off ur injectors n check the colour. If there green its stage 3. N u can turn the boost up more if u want. Up to 2 bar. Like 28psi. As long as u ent misfirin at peak boost in 3rd its fine.
Do the boost test. Floor it in 3rd and alpy the brakes. No lnger than 5 secs tho!!! 2 increase boost wind the act rod in slitly n repet the test til ur hapy

NO YOU CAN'T JUST TURN THE BOOST UP!!, well unless you want to destroy your engine! You need to run the correct amount of boost it's mapped for.

Unless the standard cooler is having trouble cooling the charged air you will gain no benefit by fitting a RS500 style cooler.
