The first thing you need to do is identify the noise, this sounds much more like the alternator, they don't always cause a whine, most do when they interfere, but not always.
If it's igntion it will likely interfere with the nearby houses tv's and radios too, ignition is a definite click sound with the revs.
Again it's just a suppresor needed, this will NEED to be earthed, and should have aearth conenction, normally through the body of it.
Other names for them, depending on how old you are was condenser, ie the same thing used on points ignitions.
Should only be £2-£3.

thanks for the reply , but what does it look like this suppressor?? ive had a look at coil packs , theres only one multiplug with 3 wires going to it , plus the 4 plug leads . cant see any seperate suppressor wired in , as i say its more a crackling sound through speakers and it increases as revs increase.

Normally the coilpack bracket has a supressor bolted to the side, a grey block that is held with one screw.
If it has no provision for one on the bracket, then it may be it is elsewhere.
It could also be a lead breaking down, is there any misfiring at all especially when cold or damp ?, is the wire between the body and the bonnet in place, as this stops the bonnet causing trouble acting as a aerial, I assume your aerial is body mounted ?
Are you using resistor plugs, you should be anyway, just steer clear of bosch plugs on these.
