Zetec turbo not boosting..help!!!
hello everyone, can any one help???
Ive finished building my zetec turbo, and when i first run it up it was fine, boosted up fine, loads of wastegate chatter , how ever the turbo blew its guts, the oil return wasnt good enough, ive fixed that now.
Ive now got another turbo on it, and it wont boost, ive pulled the vacuum pipe off from the turbo to the actuator so that should give it maximum boost??? Its a t3 by the way.

is the engine runing lumpy/knocking?the turbo should still boost.have you checked all the vac and intercooler lines/pipes?make sure they on on tight

its running a bit lumpy, but it was in the first place and it was boosting, checked for leaks, even bypassed intercooler incase it was blocked.
when it blew the 1st turbo, it made like a bang noise along with a big puff of smoke.

yeh its good, another thought i just had, although im running standard oil pump, if for some reason there was too much oil pressure would it just blow the turbo or could it prevent it from spinning up?

the oil pressue shouldnt have anything to do with the turbo spooling unless its getting no oil in there,then the turbo will just seize up.i think.is the actuator set corectly?for the correct boost you want?

yeah, its doesnt matter if the actuator is wound in or out, even a bleed valve dont make any difference thats why im confused. Do you know if i can get my standard ecu remapped or do i have to buy an aftermarket ecu? i only wanna run between 8-10psi

yeah the actuator come with it, what do you mean preload it? even when the waste gate is held closed it still dont produce no pressure so i dont think it has anything to do with the actuator?

Thats a supply fit and map price with us of £995+VAT on our V4 ECU
I would go careful running with what you have, if its an NA ECU you wont be reading postive MAP and it also wont be retarding the timing!!!
