hi,wonder if someone can tell me what problem i have
when i give my car some thrashin it sounds like the tappets start knockin but let it runn for a bit it stops

any clues peeps

 

R u sure it's NOT pinking youre hearing ie sounds like a bag of nails rattling until u come off the gas.

change the breather filter if its standard ford item? or fit a bailey etc breather system
i had the same problem in my xr2 (series 2 turbo engine)
whenever i ragged the car it would get very loud & tappety which would stop after about 10 minutes of idling,,,

this is what i was told to change & it solved it for me
