ive searched the fourm but cant find anything.
need advice on where the 3 wires go..
i know its obviously a positive, a neg, and an earth. earth can go anywhere..
but i heard the wires go onto the coil pack.. do i tap them into the current wires going into the coil pack plug, or do they go somewhere else?

The coil has a positive and a negative terminal, and the HT lead attached in the middle. So one wire off the rev limiter goes to the pos terminal and the other wire off the limiter goes to the neg terminal. The black wire just connects to the body of the car.Regards,Micky

As you say factory plug with three wires, it must be a zetec coilpack to which you are reffering ?
I see your problem in that case, as the omex that you have will only cut one side of the pack, either 1/4 or 2/3 ignition wise.
If it is a zetec coilpack type it is totally unsuitable, you need the clubman twinpack, as it's nicknamed, this is for the type of coilpack that is used on zetecs.
The one you have can't be modified to suit either.

the 2 blue wires for the coil just piece them into both outer wires on the coil pack. then power/earth from where ever job jobbed
make sure you select the right settings once its powered though!

windle - so i know one wire is earth. but the 2 others, are you saying i just tap them into the 2 wires going into the plug that goes into the side of the coil pack.
sorry im making an easy task so complicated but its hard when i got no pictures to look at lol

the rev limit you have is for a coil like this:

if you dont have that kinda coil (which you wont bein efi) then you need the other rev limit from omex...

Ram,
I know you have the clubman one but as I said from your description it sounds as though you have a coilpack, piccie would be nice but if pictured above is the coil type you have it will work, but if coilpack as I said it won't work, you need one specifically to do the twin pack/coilpack.
This would be a lot easier if you identified the coil, if it is a cylinder shape one as above, it will have a HT lead coming from it that goes onto a distributor cap, if not it will be a SQUARE pack with all four HT leads going to it, bolted down by a bolt in each corner, and halfway along the longest side a connector with THREE terminals in it, if it is the coilPACK type then the limiter you have won't work.
As you mention it only has three wires it must be the exact one in your link, so it is the wrong one for a coilpack.
Quite why someone is telling you to take TWO blue wires when there is only ONE is a mystery, but again shows it is the wrong one if you are on a coilpack.
I suggest you look up in search coilpack and see if that is what you have.
