Question Any idea what car this is from ?

I have received a second hand gearbox and its the wrong one for what I wanted - the company said I can keep it but I have no idea what car it is for

The only info I have is the number stamped on the housing - it is 96WT-7F096 EA and also IV/1 stamped on it.

Anyone have any ideas at all ?

Done some more digging and it might be from a Mk6 Escort - can anyone confirm ?

Cheers

probably right. the first 2 numbers of the part number are the year so its fitted to something newer than 96. fiestas, focus's & mondeo after this year have hydraulic clutches so that leaves you with the escort. although it could fit a run out model of the mk3 fiesta as this finished in 1997. was fitted to an efi model though as it has a speed sensor fitted inline with the speedo cable
