toad ai606 alarm problems
i have a toad ai606 alarm on my cos.it has a glass break sensor and a tilt sensor.my problems are, when the car is parked up,outside or in the garage,at random times the alarm triggers and goes off.nothing is moving around and nobody is near it and it sucks the life out of the battery very quickly,a couple of days and the car wont start.i had an ai606 on my lod cos and that could last 3 weeks and it would still start.do these alarms have sensitivity adjusters?the lad that fitted it is not doing alarms anymore and i cant get hold of him.its been like this since it was fitted.any ideas?

After tha alarm has been triggered, look closely at the LED as soon as you put the ignition on, this will flash a certain amount of times, corresponding to which circuit has been hit/triggered, listed in the booklet you should have got with it, glass break sensors are notoriously unreliable, especially as yours sounds like adjusted way too sensitive.
The difference in power consumption between this and your old one, did you have a extras such as glass and tilt on your last one ?, these things are very power hungry, had these on alarms that would only last 4 days at most to still start.
Both the tilt and glass sensor are adjustable.

the car didnt come with an alarm so i cant gauge it,but i had a sigma cat 1 on my s2 and that would last weeks and it would still start, the alarm usually goes off in the middle of the night when im in bed so i havent been out to check the flashes.and if im near it its usually disarmed,i went to a posh restaurant 1 night, got a window seat so i could keep an eye on the car,i seen the indicators flashing a few times as it went off!bit embarassing!

If the alarm has tripped, it will wait until the first time the ignition is turned on no matter how lonmg that is to display the fault/flashes.
You will know if it has been triggered as it will beep(if enabled) and flash THREE times to show it has been triggered, so you are aware to count the flashes.
Most are set up with no beep on arm/disarm, as it is now illegal due to nise pollution, but this can be enabled easy enough, and has 3 sound levels, but even the quiet is bloody loud.

it was a brand new expensive battery,i had it tested aswell and it only developed this problem once the alarm was fitted.i have tried turning off the switches for the interior lights and removed the boot light bulb, but no joy.

You need to test for a drain, simple to do, pull all the fuses out for the car, connect a bulb between a battery post and the cable that you took off it, watch the bulb as you put each fuse back,(use a low wattage, say 5 watt bulb) as soon as the drainy circuit is refused it will glow brighter, make sure you have the doors shut though, and a front window open.
It should on a healthy battery last weeks as already said.
