I am in the process of rescuing a 3dr from the jaws of the crusher. I will post pictures of it's journey shortly, but at the moment i am struggling to get the gearbox to sit correctly. could well be a saph box and mount but didn't think there was any difference in shape. The other problem is I've just attached the RS500 style intercooler and now the headlights wont go back into their holes! Assuming I'm right in mounting the intercooler in front of the rad?
any help would be great as i've no experience in this sort of thing!!

 

are you using a saph gearbox bracket to support it under the tunnel?? the 3dr ones are different.

Cooler goes infront of the rad, do you know what make it is?

thanks a million, my cooler must be sitting too far forward then. Strange as i have used the original holes under the chassis rails. Now all i need to do is source the correct gearbox mount and i'm nearly there. If anyone on here has one it would save a massive amount of hassle, if not i'll see if they can still be bought through ford.

 

There are two sets of holes one for the rad and cooler so make sure you have the cooler on the correct ones.

The mount I doubt you can get from ford anymore unless anyone knows different. I think you can mod the tunnel to accept the saph bracket but again someone will confirm this.

 

it looks like you either have a saph or escort 500 cooler, i have one on my 3dr and it has small cut out at the top corners to allow the lights to go back in. i just got round it by putting the smaller lights in there instead.
