I don't know about ALL zetecs but know there isn't on the early ones ie silver top.
There is a pin that is inserted into the base of the block and it butts up against a flat section on a crank web inside.

There's a mark on the alternator pulley (at least on the silver top) just as on the cvh.

the crank pulley has a mark on the zetecs. lines up with a casting mark on the sump or the block, cant remember off the top of my head

but as said before can use a locking tool too which threads into the front of the block

Take number one plug out put a cable tie down and turn it til it hits the highest point, works every time.

Yes on the front forward facing part of the block, ther eis just above the bottom of the sump a lonely 10mm headed bolt, this is removed and a threaded pin of a precise length inserted, when engine is at TDC you can actually hear/feel the pin and crank web contact each other, take plugs out and it's a lot easier to turn.
Most car accessory shops will sell a zetec cam timing kit, whihc is a flat bar(5mm) to go in the rear of the cams, slot is offset so that it only fits correctly one way, and the pin, about £10 or so.
