Default MK3 Fiesta engine advice

Hi guys, obscure one I know but I need help.

Basically I usually drive around in a '78 Opel Kadett with a 2.0 16v XE (I know I know, GM and all that ha. I had a Sierra before, so I'm not totally bad). But I blew that engine up (my fault), so persuaded my pops to let me borrow a MK3 Fiesta he has.

I went to take it for an MOT, and on the way.... I blew the engine up. I saw the funny side but it's pretty inconveniant .

It's just a crap-spec 1.1 lawnmower engine, so not worth rebuilding or anything. Thing is, it seems a bit hard trying to find another engine to replace it (guessing they are pretty disposable!). I've seen quite a few XR2 engines for sale though..

So I'm thinking, what engine will bolt up to the standard gearbox, mounts etc? Or what combinations can I use to make things work (cheap cheap)

Any quick help appreciated, as my Opel only had 2 seats and I need to transport 4 people 100miles at the start of Feb!

scrap it, and buy another, my brother just bought a 1.1 popular plus with 60k miles, 7 mnths MOT, interior in good nick, spot on underneath but faded paintwork and could do with 2 new wings for 200 quid, hardly worth messing about with an engine swap.
..oh, and dont drive it so hard, its an old 1.1 not a ferrari
