you could get a hammer and flat head and hit the edge and it should turn ant clock wise if not use a angel grinder and cut a grove in the midil of the stud and turn it with a flat head screwdriver or hit it once in the grove

If your careful, using a hacksaw cut a screw driver slot in the top, and use a decent large head screwdriver with a socket body (the ones where you can use a spanner on it).

The apply loads of downward pressure by leaning on the screwdriver head and with the spanner on the screwdriver body turn the screwdriver.
Would be an idea to spary some wd40 or similar on it first ensuring it seeps down any minute gap around the bolt.

Plus, to be safe, get a scrap piece of sheet aluminium (small piece) and drill a hole the same size as the top of the bolt. then place this over the bolt head and should you slip off with the screwdriver you'll hit the sheet metal and not the block.

or geta set of the draper roller bearing stud extractors, no damage to the head and they do just grip and the harder u turn, the harder they grip, they are about 20 quid for th set from most motorfactor or tool places.

if you can run to it snapon do external extractors about 25 quid each .they come in all the diffrent sizes the part number you need is bexw and the bolt head size .ie bexw 15 and so on .they fit over the outside of the bolt and are taperd so the more force you put on it the better it grips .saved me loads of time and money.

when it happened to me i welded a nut on ( cover the rest of the block with something splatter cant burn throught thick cardboard should do) had been blasting it with anti seeze oil for a while before hand too.
once you get it moving undo then do up a tiny bit spray some anti seeze in and carry on like this , job done mate, dont be to heavy handed or your in the shit, take your time.
as for extractors, being a engineer these do work but if they snap 9 and a lot do your fucked if you can get the bit out.
look at it this way, it you could undo it when it was soild how much chance do you stand with a extractor? not to say it wont work, i just would waste my time with them, not on a head bolt
