THE BIT THAT I AM MOST AFFRAID OF IS THE WIRING . I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO NO IF THERE ARE ANY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A 1.3 LX SHELL AND MY CURRENT ROTTEN XR2I SHELL ?

Everything will fit so save as much as you can the shells are the same iirc. As above you do know that it will lose it's xr2i id so it will be just a 1.6 LX on the log book (if you inform DVLA of the changes) as you can not swop the id from car to car in some case's it will need to be looked over by DVLA then will be put on a Q plate
