Default Puma 1.7 - need workshop manual and timing gear?

Guys,

I've gotta do a timing belt change on a 1.7 puma this weekend. Actually i started it last weekend but put the thing back together as i couldnt see any timing marks?

I've been told i need a locking pin thing that goes in the crank, i know this is only my first post so people will be a bit apprehensive to help me (even more so because i'm a jap car fan ) but i wanted to ask you guys

a) Does anyone have the engine workshop manual? i cant find one, and i want to know where this hole is that i have to insert the locking pin through to time the engine up

b) does anyone have one of these locking pin kits that i can either borrow (in exchange for some beer tokens of course) or could you measure it up so i could make my own?

Or if anyone can describe where the hole is i need to put the locking pin in then sweet, go ahead.

Thanks very much guys

Carl

Default timing belt

i did my first one last week ,are you a reasonable mechanic? it took me about 3 and a half hours and that what i do for a living ,the hole for the pin is behind the driveshaft o/s 10 mm or 12 mm bolt head, the flat bar that locks you cams together isnt special ,have you a good motor factors near you ? we bought our kit for £15,think its a sealy item,i think if you go on autodata you can download timing belt data ,give your self plenty of time

Well i've rebuilt two RX7 engines, a couple of cossies and lots of other stuff too so i'd say im pretty reasonable Although on my first cossie i did put a coolant line into an oil line and filled the sump with coolant haha.

I looked behind the driveshaft someone else told me it was around there but i couldnt see it...hmmm. Guess i just need to look harder!

Ive got a good motor factors near me yes, do you remember the part number for the kit?

I dont suppose you could post it to me could you and i'll paypal you some money as a deposit on it?

I dont have autodata, thats an application isnt it?

thanks for the help dude!
