Default S2 rst boost problems

hi all

my erst has a few boost problems, firstly its cutting in late at around 4000rpm and also the boost keeps rising on the gauge but the car doesnt go any faster, its like the engine isnt getting the boost.

its not the clutch as the revs would rise too, any ideas

boost problem could be something like a cracked wastegate, i had this once and with the screw in my bleed valve REMOVED it wouldnt boost more than 10psi!!

Sounds like it needs a setup once you cure the lag aswell, very common thing on MFI cars when they hold back.

if i let it, it will boost over 16psi but im not willing too, but it doesnt feel like that 16psi or so is going into the engine if that makes sense

then buy one

That may seem like a snotty reply but a timing light will be cheaper than a rebuild

fair enough. its really hard to describe the boost prob tho, to get the car to accelerate qiuckly you have to 'balance the boost' keep the pedal about half way down and ease off a bit, if you floor it the boost just keeps rising and rising, ive tryed turning the boost down a few turns but then it struggles to get any boost in first gear, were as at present im getting about 10psi before i run out of revs, it wasnt doing this before i upgraded to a chipped ecu
