Default Top end tick on a 4x4 Cossie

I've got a top end tick in my 4x4 cossie, fitted a guage to check the oil pressure and that does not seem too far off the mark. The important point I guess is that the tick is present at all rpm.

The car had a set of genuine lifters about 20k miles ago so I would hope that they are not to blame. Blew all the oilways through and there was no debris or any problems.

Given that the lifters are steel and the head alloy is it possible/probable that the tappet bore has been enlarged/worn out? Mine has done 156k.

Any suggestions as to what to do next? I dont want to shell out for another set of tappets as I don't think they are the problem, scrapping the head seems extreem.

I saw a post in parts section of the RSOC BB for .2mm oversize tappets did such a thing exist as a genuine part? Would these have required the head to be machined to accept them or were they designed for this situation?

Iain

PS found another thread which would seem to indicate that these were to accommodate production tollerances rather than a service part, they were only 200 microns or about 8 thou larger than the standard ones.

Are you using the correct grade of oil for a Yb?

It's been run on Ford formula S the whole time I've had it (70k), I think that is a relatively thick one. Changed every 6k, due for another change tomorrow.
