ANY1 REBUILT A T3 GARRET TURBO
Any 1 rebuilt a t3 garret turbo im after buying this kit on ebay the numbers 22005693309 and it says to specify whever i want a encapsulated carbon seal, 4pc carbon seal assembly or dynamic seal.
Its for a 1987 series 2 escort rs turbo
any help would be great thanks

Mate, seriously, youve got a lot of threads going and you dont seem to be getting anywhere just going round in circles.
1) have you actually 100% identified the turbo as being the cause
2) if it is DEFINATELY the turbo, a rebuild kit isn't necessarily the easy option out.
3) There are a lot harder jobs than rebuilding a turbo but its certainly not the most straight forward job in the world.

Cheers guys ive just bought a second hand turbo 50 notes with manifold gunner bolt it on boxing day see what happens only thing is there seems a lot of play in the shaft any1 know if you can tighten just the shaft so not as much side t side cheers

There will always be a little play in the shaft, it gets taken up when there is pressurised oil running through it. Generally though, if there is so much play that you can make the compressor foul the housing then it will be fucked mate.
And anthony, the turbo on my cabby cost me £50. Was mint aswell, i have rebuilt it anyway just for piece of mind but its never smoked once Had to swap the exhaust housing though as the wastegate was cracked but that was easy
