All it needs is an inlet and outlet.

I don't think you can use your idle valve for idle and anti lag though.

This is the valve i use:

OK Thanks, I was thinking about the one that fits in the Cosworth throttle body, I understood that mods were required to make it work on ALS. Maybe the Bosch one would do fine, it already has the pipe connections I will need! Does it pass enough air when fully open to produce plenty of boost?

THanks,

Martin

the ports inbetween the throttle plate for air bypass need to be opened and joined up . and the std valve needs to be modified to run any decent boost , i.e the end of the std valve gets removed and has a conicle taper bush like a top hat put in it instead of the fixed air bypass , the std parts can me hand modified to run an effective als system , just not producing massive boost thats all !!

mines a std unit but only slightly modded (as in still loks like a std unit) manages to hold off vaccuum on tickover , keeps turbo active when well warm

OK Mike, but looks like an Astra 16V type Bosch unit might be easier for me, you can fit hoses to it and remotely mount it, that will be better I think.

Well, as someone on 22B suggested, you dont really need the iscv to be controlled by the gems, you can just use a double pole switch on the one that activated the als on the gems input and whack it wide open, then control the idle speed etc by the gems s/w. (by the way, this is on a Subaru!)

but surely gems can do all this at once for ya ? you need the tps to tell the ecu your at 0% throttle to retard the timing , at the same time you will need to lift the idle to enable the air to enter the engine , not only to create the burn process but to prevent stall , my system will actually shut down with no throttle movement after 10 secs to prevent un ness over heat , if your scooby is a bit temperamental with turbos then with als it will eat them for fun with the amount of als your on about running , especially if your gonna have it on a switch for full time als , let t he ecu control it , will be alot easier and more efiiciant in the long run , you know the score , your sat on a start line and theres a car off in the stage so they wont let you go , so you turn it off , then on , then off cause its getting too hot etc etc , not only that butyou dont want to be sat there at 3000rpm , its very crucial to be set up right or when you decel at low revs your car will try and speed up !!!
