One fan would make a difference.big time.as far as takin the header cap off, dont for gods sake coz you will scald yourself. They all hiss and spit if you loosen the header tank cap.was gonna say that in my earlier reply but i forgot, sorry, good luck
take it bak?? where 2 me garage??? lol....thats where it was dun at....think the heads gunna ave 2 cum off like...im gunna change the water temp sensor nh bleed it all through...get the timing checked n get a new rad.....then if all else fails its getting stripped bak down
Hi Jakki, you still not sorted this?
after our conversation a while ago i would have said the rad....could u borrow some1's??????
got a gut feeling about this...when i had mine rebuilt i had exactly the same problem... (as i said in our conversation) i had a fairly new rad so was quite concerned something serious was wrong when i had the same problem u are decribing... Luckily my friends 4b4 saff was off the road so i borrowed his rad for the afternoon...installed in and bled the system and volia problem sovled.
But as u say u don't wasnt spend some wedge on a rad when it's not the problem..hense me asking if u have a friend who can help you out
good luck
P.s yes that was a tanned me with the glasses on sunday

do a compression test, or get one of them tests done that tells ya if theres exhaust gasses in the coolant, then ya will kno where ya stand
could possibly be airlock, blocked rad or knackered water pump tho, u tried running it without the thermostat? ive had a brand new thermostat that was knackered

yeah ive had the thermostat out n no different...bled it through aswell.... im getting it looked at one sat like at me m8's gargae so will go from there...think it could well b the radiator meself like
Ford thermostats have been giving problems of recent...
A halfords one (HTK606 is the part number) will fit and is only Ł6ish. Just make sure it's got 82 degrees stamped into it and not 88 as some do....

dnt knw....hasnt been set up since it was rebuilt......ill keep you's up dated on what happens 2 morra cos im taking it down the garage...... i heard u can get a low temp thermostat last nite or summit like that...is that right?
If the head has been ported then your current map is not fuelling correctly. If ya don't sort it it'll possibly blow up when you nail it.
Have the cooling system pressure checked and tested for exhaust gas.
You want a 88 degree stat not an 82 one.

If the pipes are getting hard you have 1 of 4 problems.
1) Air in the water.
2) Headgasket failure or worse.
3) Headertank cap failure.
4) Very excessive temperature. (110+)
4x4s are 82 degree Steve

well had comperession checked...its fine.......had the head gasket checked its fine.......took me 500 i/c off n the temp dropped a little bit when i put the standard one bak on but its still running on the top of the R...........only other problem is its using oil???? think im gunna ave 2 ave the head off
any idea's why it would use oil i use mobil 1 15/50 n as soon as u put ye foot down the oil disapears

how many miles has it done ?????
As all engines will use a drop of oil and run a little warm when just built!!!
However i would def get both fans working as that would help
I have a similar spec to you and whenever i pull up anywhere my fans kick in!!!
for the 1st 1000 miles my engine used over 2 litres of oil and ran hot all the time
now it uses minimal oil and temp has settled down( you can still burn your hand on the expansion tank though)
Pugo
" if it ain't broke.....don't fix it"
i had the same problem this was due to the car running to lean on boost.......the easiest way to check the rad is,,get the engine up to temp wait for the fans to kick in,wait for them to kick out out then feel up and down the finning on the radiator if there are any cold spots then it is blocked.....never fails!!!
