Default s2 will not start help

sorry to trouble you all again but im going to burn this car if i dont get it going soon. .right here goes,recently changed the engine on my rs s2 connected everything back up as it should be car will not start no mater what i try,the fuel pump primes on ignition then carrys on running while your turning it over,ihave checked for air leaks,iv changed th distributor,both ecus there is fuel at the injectors so why wont it start ,so frustrating,i even towed the car today and still no joy,it is not even trying to start just turning over.any help would be much appreciated :wall

Have you tested for spark and fuel to the injectors?

yes had spark plugs out turned it over and ther is a spark andthere is fuel getting there so ,just another thing at what position should the rotor arm be pointing when bottom pully is on tdc ,cheers

Check your firing order.

As you look at the cap the one in the 1 o'clock sort of position is number one, then go round the cap anti clockwise in the order 1,3,4,2

so number 1 is definatley in the one oclock position and not the 11 o clock position like mine is,sorry if this sounds stupid but i need to get the thing going

Yes thats correct.

I know and have also spoken to a number of people who have purchased some form of "RS Turbo technical data cd" from somewhere and its all wrong, which is about as much use as a cock flavoured lolly pop

ye was askin you the other day about the no spark story,any way that turned out to be the green wires infront of the rad that were broke,couldnt wait till tommorow just put plug leads were you said, started on the first click,how happy am i ? so thanks a lot dont know what id av done without this site cheers

green wire in front of the rad in the loom are for the coil !
