Sorry bout the delay, the mix of busyness, lazyness, and betterthingstodoness has taken its toll again, but heres an update, a quality DIY tramp style one too...
As i got this front mounter to fit, i decided to break out the angle grinder and cut the fuck out the front bumper.
Cut it up, added some bits to the cutout bits to stop it looking too shit, and then tried it on the car to see if it worked.
These pics were with it held on with nowt but gravity and luck...
Looked good barring the top bit was floppy, needed some bracing of some sort.
Bottom bit looks out of shape as it wasnt clipped down, im sure its normally straighter, but the tin underneath that keeps it in shape is bent after the odd drifty accident, but once clipped in it sits straight.
One other problem is the fibreglass side bits did, as expected, crack a lil bit, so time to do some more mods to it...
To strengthen the top bit, some S13 brake lines!
There was a S13 down the scrappy a month or so back and i robbed the brake lines for no real reason, but i knew theyd come in use!
A bit of cutting and a bit or araldite and they did the job just lovely...
As you mightve noticed on the above pic, i broke out the fibreglass matting and strengthened the other bits too...
Now just gotta wang the front mounter on!
Another new mod is my twin 11.5inch electric fans! Total cost, ZERO!
We was down the workshop painting the floor the other day and i went out back (which is like an overgrown scrapyard) and there was a Vaux Omega in bits out there, so i decided to comandeer the fans...
A bit of chopping of the shroud they come with, and i ended up with this...
Perfecto
Think i might make some DIY adapters to fit the side mounts on the bucket to the SX floor later...

Any updates on this steve? Will the handbrake fail a mot or won't they check it.
Heard those intercoolers are a bit of a pain to fit? Mines got a SE Frount mount intercooler have you ever heard of these?
Wish my 200 owe'd me as much as yours does Saying that I thought it was cheap to rebuild even using good parts ie forged Wiseco's for Ł320
Love the motor mate

Hydro handbrake will fail MOT, but could either keep both (fitted in different places) or just not worry about it if you got friendly MOT peeps like i have.
Intercoolers on, pretty simple to fit if you got a bit of sence, it looks like it wouldnt fit, but it does!
Ive still not de-wonky'd the bumber, but its a bit better, and now includes about 15 cable ties into the bargain
Too busy to do owt else yet

New turbo arrived today, basically a GT28 copy, inc inlet adapter etc.
VERY impressed with the build quality, spins stupidly freely (makes sence as meant to be BB core), came with all inlets and outlets covered in the proper plastic covers, and the price, well thats insane
Be good to find out how well it works too, rather than all the K1 bullshit from people who have just heard internet rumours and never used one too...

Or was that a different make?
Or was that a different make?
Turns out they was copies/fakes (why anyone would fake a make thats not got a big name is beyond me anyhow), wheras these ones are really good quality fakes of garretts
I took it to pieces last night, mainly to measure the wheel sizes, but also check out some more build quality.
Its spot on
Wheel sizes are same as GT28RS (though the GT28R has almost the same size, just different trim), and the compressor is same as a GT28R one (which is an option on RS's).
Now jus gotta find out how you can tell what trim it is

Nice turbo, keep us updated how it performes, I'd like to bolt a GT28RS on to my 1.6 when time is there, would be nice to hear some stories about it as this is a compareable turbo

Seen GT28RS's with giving good power from just under 3k till well over 7k on a 1.8 200SX, and they good for, well, 320bhp no problem, 350bhp at a push.
Guess its gonna depend on the car. Cam duration affects boost threshold massivley

Engine should be able to run 250 bhp, but don't want to stress the turbo to the max then, so specs for 300 bhp and a quick spin up, tought the GT series were good at that??

thats my old one,
i had a t28bb on it and it was well amusing, jez stage 2 chip, massive alloy fmic, hks hyper muffler exhaust, hks filter, apex coilovers and 18'' kei racing alloys.
id still have it if it was even remotely reliable, in the 3 months i had it. 2 headgaskets went, the turbo went, big ends started rattling, engine mounts died, gearbox died, and it started to rust too,
still loved it tho.
