Default 200SX drift toy- 26th July- shocking news. possibly...

Yea, im keeping the GTR (i think ), but have another toy now too...

S13 200SX
Totally stripped out
Cusco coilovers
Camber adjustable top mounts
1bar boost
Induction Kit
Welded rear diff
Solid rear beam mounts
Solid engine mounts
The alloys in the pic

Really like it, can see it looking amazing with a bit of work, but not planning to spend any real money on it, not when i got the GTR too.
Thats not to say i wont mod it tho

Thats if i dont write it off first, as this car was purely bought to learn to drift in (as unlike most peoples delusions, even though i have about 5 years of powerful RWD expeirience, i dont think i can drift ).

Need an exhaust first tho, the std one is fucked and sounds like someone with the shits doing a real bad one...

BTW it was a fooooooookin bargain.

The suspension alone is worth more than i paid for the whole car

Oh, missed one vital mod, the "Driftworks" stickers on the rear side windows

Fookin spot on IMO

I reckon the first step to becoming good is knowing that you really aren't very good to start with.

Looks like a cool car

These 200sx's are really growing on me now, bloody APT I prefer the 13 over 14, but the 15 is gorgeous, but still a few quid. Best of luck with it mate

Thanks I really like it.

Infact I have dark dark thoughts of keeping it and ridding myself of the GTR
Tho if i kept it it would have a RB30 engine put in it anyhow so not much difference barring looks (S15 headlight conversion too I reckon)

Only thing is i just couldnt spray it that riviera blue as id be mistaken for the "Drift Midz" crew, who seem to be some kind of wannabee drifter Croooozers (ie got the look and the talk, but dont/cant drift, just jumping on the bandwagon), and they all have S13s in that colour...

Colour is cool as fuck tho, but think he might wanna lower it a bit...

J-Tuners AE86 is leaving me today So need to get an exhaust on the S13 soon as or il not have my daily RWD fix and i dont know if i can cope

I don't quite know what it is, but why do I look at that S13, and instantly think of kingsize Rizlas?

Nice one Steve.

Now, I have a nice APT Stage 2 CA18 sitting here (Steel Rods/Forged Pistons etc). I think would go nicely in there. How about it??

On a drifty but non 200SX note...

Spent all last night fixing the J-Tuner AE86, was running sweet, went n put 50psi in the rear tyres so i dont rip em off when hanging it everywhere (i just love doing it on big fairly busy roundabouts, just to see the looks on peoples faces ), everything was rosey.
Then the ignition failed, no spark.
Fixed it in time for Scary n Matt to take it to Japshow, and then it started overfuling badly, unburnt fuel smoke coming out the carbs
Engine bay covered in black soot.
So they didnt take it, so I investigated n found a sticking fuel pressure reg, its fixed now but its too late and they gone
Il never get the fucking thing off my drive at this rate

The 200SX

Not driven it since i bought it as the exhaust is kinda missing (ok, it hasnt got one), but soon noticed why the guy said it was getting a bit noisy, the fuckers got no oil in it Not even registering on the dipstick

Also found the exhaust (well whats left of it ) is held on by, well i dunno, gods will? Theres the 3 nuts, but there no fucking bolts on em
Looks like maybe a slight turbo-manifold join leak too, easy fixed.

If i can be arsed tomorrow im gonna relocate the battery to the boot, modify the breather system and fit a catch tank (ie a coke bottle )
And maybe go down the scrappy and see what intercoolers are lying around.
A 4x4 Cossie one would be ideal for it actually, will fit between the bumper and rad really easy. (il get a front mount soon as someone wants to donate one to me )
Mission next week is to get a full aftermarket exhaust of some sort too...

One things for sure, im deffo keeping the GTR, sitting them side my side, the SX is cool, but the GTR is just awesome

I fucking LOVE this car

Ive now decided to make it my mission to spend as good as NO money on it, while making it as ace as possible (already helps its got a fucking mint drift spec )

Today i changed the oil for some Castrol RS i had lying around, MUCH better now, pretty bloody quiet

And ive started the modding too

I made a quality twin port (from either end of cam cover) oil catch tank setup for the princely sum of FUCK ALL

Made the blanking plugs for the turbo/filter pipe, and the inlet manifold from...
Wood
Not just made from broom handle either, even cheaper than that...
Fashioned from a branch i cut off a tree in the back garden

The pipes and jubilee clips i had lying around so that was easy.

And the catch tank was made of........
A mountain bike water bottle i also found in the shed

It works fucking perfect too, and well neat

Luckily due to the entire ABS setup already been removed there was plenty of room for it too.

Ive took some pics with my phone, but nothing to upload it to my my PC here, il try and do it at work on monday.

Its sooo satisfying when you do shit like this, next plan is fit a 4x4 cossie cooler (if someone will sell me one mega cheap) somewhere low in the front bumper, and fit some form of exhaust.

I smell a side exit...

Also need a bucket seat and harness

This is a drift car mate, to be used HARD, i dont want anything that il worry about smashing, i want to take it to the and over the limit without worrying about hitting the armco/tyrewall

And why spend money getting some metal blanking plugs made (as they not a shape ive ever seen any that are off the shelf) when i can make my own that works just as good?

Better for the enviroment too

Soon as i scrape/smash it bad enough its getting a matt black respray, on my drive, with poundland rattle cans
Will look awesome i reckon, esp as the wheels are black anyhow

Heres a few pics of the DIY breather setup...

Looks poo, works well
Engine bay could do with a clean i think...

Can see where pipe to the inlet manifold was blanked off on the top right, and also the pipe to the turbo inlet on the left.

No more sucking in oil on boost and giving you oily boost pipes and smoking engine.

Is it true that Fiesta RS Turbo ignition leads are more efficent than standard escos ignition leads & are not far off as good as the ford motorsport ignition leads?

Checkitoooooot, i have an exhaust now!!!

Remarkably quiet too for a single box, shame its slightly blowing from turbine housing join with elbow, but thasa easy fix.

Forgot to take any pics from the outside with the new exhaust on, doh, il do it another day.

Took some more general pics tho...

the back, rust free, but spoiler got to go, and i dont like the rear lights either.

Front, complete with drift-spec cable-tied front splitter and smashed numberplate.

Inside, buckets seriously needed!

Engine, dirty but decent, not breathing oil either suprisingly enough...

Slightly more arty front shot, but needs me to get the c-spanner out and lower it more.

The other drift car on my drive is far cooler tho...

Update time...

Still not really driven the bloody car as it had quite a bad exhaust leak from the join where the turbo meets the manifold, so this afternoon, hungover, in the rain, on my own, with almost no tools (i dunno where they all gone ), i decided to fix it...

Thing is, to remove the turbo, you need to remove the fucking exhaust manifold

Although there are guides on how to remove them on the SXOC forum so im told, im not the kind of person who ever reads instuctions, so it was time to just guess
And i did fine

Manifold and turbo off, bit of a pain in the arse, sorta 50/50 split of how much work you need to do uner the car, and how much from on top.
The on top stuff is FAR more, but is quick and easy, underneath there not lods, but its a C.UNT of a job

Turbo and manifold off.

Here's the turbo, seems t be in remarkably good condition, fuck all play in it, and a braided oil feed pipe is a bonus as thats not standard, and the standard pipes are meant to be shit.

I think this would explain why it was blowing

Not put it back on yet, but will when i can be arsed

Water pipes will NOT be going back on, as water cooled turbos are for gays And they a pain in the arse and i cut the standard ones off with a hacksaw

Thing is, do i NEED that gasket? I didnt think you had to when the join is cast iron manifold to cast iron exhaust housing?

Im sure on Cossies and RSTs you dont use one do ya? Tho its been a while so cant remember

They .64 a/r ex housing if anyone cares, i dont (unless my turbo aint standard, fuck knows )

Cool I think it should be fine then

Oh, and i removed almost all the sound deadening from the floorpan with a hammer and chisel too, but ive not got a pic of that as i forgot

C.unt of a job that is, and im fucked if i can get it off the floor under the front seats either

PS- You can see one of the solid Nismo engine mounts in that engine bay picture
