After stripping the bottom end down to completely clean any debris out that may have made its way down there, it was re-assembled. There was also a tiny pin-prick hole in the sump where we welded the baffles in, which had to be sealed with sealer before, but we could now repair it properly and repaint the sump.
Anyway, the head is now refitted using a standard head gasket. So, I guess we will see if it is up to a proper 350bhp. I also re-used the ARP Head Studs/Nuts, after much consideration.
The Turbo has been off for full inspection and to be re-balanced and that is also ready to be fitted. So, it's now just a case of re-fitting the cam and setting it all up before putting it back in the car next week.
There are some other plans in the pipeline, but more about that when it is a little further along.

Get the new bits on then Mr C and then I'll come up and blow you away
(That is nothing to do with guns either)
I know what you mean about not driving them properly for a while, you had mine for a month and still after driving it home for over 100 miles I launched down a slip road and shit myself LOL

Well, this week has been all about the Yo-Yo Turbine Housing.

I own 2 Turbine Housings and I just can't decide which to run. The larger one is making more power and was the housing that I did the PF Thrash on and made 350bhp, though the smaller housing is more responsive.
I think I am now on about the 4th swap since putting the engine back together as I just can't make my mind up.
I am edging towards the smaller one though. It will certainly sacrifice power, but I am looking for a happy medium.
When I fitted the smaller housing last week, I quite liked it, though I was then looking more for top-end power, but since I refitted the larger housing last night, I think my mind is just about made-up.

This is a Brand New Genuine Garrett Turbine Housing, for External Wastegate application. There are plenty of cheaper alternatives, but I opted for the genuine item. I don't want to divulge the size, but I am told that the Garrett Housing has better flow properties than the Ford commissioned item......

These pictures show the 4-Bolt Adaptor that fits onto the Turbine Housing allowing the use of 3" V-Band fitting for the downpipe. This allows fast removal. I currently use this type of fitting on my existing set-up, but will show more pics of this as I put it together.....

.....and for my next trick, this is my new Tubular Manifold. It has been Custom-made for my application, using Laser-Cut flanges and good strong tube. Pictures don't really look great, but will look better in the pics once it's on!!

Now, although I have tried really hard to get this all sorted in time for the Rolling Road Day. I really don't think it is worth rushing it all together for this. So, I plan to give the map a quick going over so that I can run the car on Sunday and start the ftting of the Manifold next week. I don't expect to make much over 300bhp on Sunday as I don't want to waste alot of time on the map as it will need remapping for this new manifold!!
So, what do you think??

hi christian how thick wall is the tubing on your manifold ?
cos in the pic of the collector there i see the the pipes is not welded with backgas so you get the welding on the ofther site off the pipe
so if its only 1.5mm or less i think it would crack in the weldings
don`t mean to be prick but but i have build a few manifolds to know this
