ok not alot happening recently as the mainshaft in the box bent, only by 100 thou but the gears were locking. made a right racket! and being a yec kit part was a nightmare to sort but were all back together now and also had another diff built by bernie at competition transmissions. its a 3.38 re rated and refilled viscous to the weight of my car so should be able to give it alot more power round the bends without it just going sideways now!
while it was apart i fitted a temp sensor just to see how hot its actually getting

new centre prop bearing (cause of mainshaft issue)
and some new exhaust wadding was way too loud!

going for another geo check then off to oulton to break it again!
hopefully not!

service was ok quoted me 195 plus vat on the phone and all of a sudden was 495 plus vat without even ringing me! but i know it will be spot on hes got one of the best reps
warping it down the clifton quarter mile straight? good boy. the council should really consider putting up a pod style timing board there, would help the local lads measure their performance improvements more accurately. fbc is so out of touch with what local people want.

and fitted a volt guage so i can keep an eye on it as ive been having a few charging issues! its like the illuminations on the dash now!!

its got an stm slipper in it nearly 900 quids worth if doesnt hold up im screwed haha
in fact did you borrow a diff off a chap in st annes? if so this is the same diff
hows your car doing??
hi yes i did borrow a diff, but that wasnt a 3.38, it was a std 3.64 iirc.
The fact that your engie will rev to more than double what the std engine that was attached to the diff, just consider the gearbox ratios.
An incorrect gear ratio can kill a car in performance and drivability.

ok not updated in a while fair few changes sold the paddle shift in favour for stick shift. had a look at how its mounted on mk's race car and basically copyed it!

started by bending a bit of tube to mount it impatient as i am i couldnt wait to use a pipe bender so filled the pipe with some sand, got heating and bending!!

turned an old bolt down drilled and tapped it for the lever to mount

got a friend to tig it up for me

welded in

and at the box end

because of losing the paddles ive had to use a load cell to tell the ecu weather your going up or down the box to blip or cut here all done

you can see here how hot theyve been, blistered!!!

and a cheeky shot of the titanium rods
