great day today got everything working together the dash etc did as much progrmming as pos widebands all done and working with the ecu basically ready to start now! magic words ecu connected!

onto the fuel pump set up, using a self contined unit from a new blade which should be good for the power and has a swirl pot and level sensor built in so it makes life much easier. had my mate knock up an alley ring to mount it in and will simply weld it into the bottom of the fuel tank job done!

once the sump and fuel tanks welded up hopefully wednesday wel be ready for a start up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet another great update, you have some lovely parts fitted to this car now
I've just bought myself a Flatshifter Expert but without the Max add on kit, so it's safe to say I'm intrigued to see what you think of the Flatshifter! Hurry up and drive it

thanks alot mate and i know 2 other people running the flatshifter experts and theyre both over the moon with them!
ok well had the tank welded up and fitted up the fuel lines filled it up with fluids and have it a crank! after a little bit of messing it runs! very rich mite i add but running all the same. very happy chappy and a milestone has been reached again! few more bits and bobs to do then some mapping to get it running peachy!
for ease i just used push fit connectors with a servicable fuel filter ran these on my other cars and had no leaking issues or failures so all good and nice and light!

quick video of it running

ok few bits done tonight, new valve cover gasket and while the cover was off ive drilled it out ready to accept the cam cover breather, re made a housing for oil pressure and temp sensors and started to think about mounting this airbox :-/
after speaking to a few bike tuners ive decided to scrap the adjustable hight stacks as the amount of work involved makeing them fit under the bonnet massivly outweighed the gains id see anyway so simply chopped them off leaving the lower trumpets

does anyone know what the ideal gap should be between the top of the trumpets and the plenum??

after many e mails to denso and yamaha uk etc etc i stil had no luck with any info on the injectors at all!!! so took them to a place down the road to get them tested on the asnu machine came out at 320cc/min @ 3bar which on the emerald software says they are good for 256bhp so all good! time to have a play over christmas now i know the injector scalings right

right not much been happening really! sumps been fitted with a -8 for the breather return and one of the reed valve covers fitted with a -10.

also its overheating due to not circulating whipped the rear water pipe off and the bloody water pump impellors free wheeling but cant come off so to save removing the engine again and stripping it down ive got an inline davies craig pump and controller, tho il actually be using the ecu to switch it on and off which will enable it to get up to temp alot quicker

I can only assume there has been little progress with your car because you have been too busy working on the wiring loom for my Ford Capri 3.0S? In which case I am perfectly happy with that.

ok finally managed to get some time on it after months off! ordered some of these

7x13 front and 8.5x13 rear all et 20 measured these 10 times so definately correct!
had a nightmare with fuel leaks so rather than the plastic sealed cap i made for the top i got a proper nut ring of a mate, welded it up and re sealed the fuel pump with normfest plastomar which ive been guaranteed is fuel resistant! wel see! so far so good anyway!

roll on friday when mr p is hopefully comeing to do a little mapping

cheers dude! well will came down for 3 hours tonight, aim was to get it idleing nicely and do a bit of mapping and he did exactly that. great guy and superb work idles great at 1300 rpm and made it perfectly safe for me to have a drive in to make sure everythings ok before a full mapping session. managed to load it up a little using the rear brakes in short bursts to about 40% throttle. first time ive been able to try the electronic gearchange system and seems to work great! and after a few attempts even found neutral a few times!! anyway thanks will! cant wait for the wheels to arrive now! little vid

ok after a mental month with this and that actually managed to have a day on the car got the airbox finished this is the only way i could think of doing it without makeing a fresh one!
basically chopped up the original and with a bit of fibregass and filler later came up with this and some itg filters covering the trumpet internally, again couldnt really fit a filter anywhere else keeps it neat anyways

also got the breather sorted bought a cheap breather pot welded a -8 and 2x -10 fittings and used aeroquip push fit hose nicer than braided imo and lighter!!! just got to have the tank powdercoated and make a mounting bracket and all done

thats it for now! wheels will be here on friday mot and tax then down to emerald on the 27th for mapping! canny wait now!

all hail the king! the obp machine looks sharp as a knife and is a technological masterclass. you've put your enviable skills to spectacular use with this one mark, can't wait to see it in the metal and hear it in the street!
Looks amazing now mark, love the new wheels, you coming down this month when your taking it for mapping? Cant wait for a drive must remember some glasses this time though, couldn't see properly for about an hour after last time!!!

feels amazing real torquey so much different to the last spec just struggling getting past neutral so a few tweeks needed

all was going well until this happened paddles started working intermitantly but then worked when i wiggled the wiring so took it apart and found a broken wire, broke one of the microswitches in the processs tho so having to send them back to flatshifter :-( doubt theyll be back in time for maping so just going to wire 2 temporary buttons up instead

and a few more car porn pics! a 12 witht he front end off ready for the engine going back in and a challenge car just fitted gpe datalogger gear in and a load of other bits

brilliant videos, car looks and sounds terrifying! ahh, the old alley...wish I was there, actually, we could do a drag race down it, really impress the neighbours! see that broken rod end there, that's why I leave the technical stuff to the experts like you, that would have killed me.
