Default 1st june update

i installed my new bonnet catch last night and came up against a snag. it was hitting on my intercooler. at first i bent it a little and it worked but i wasnt happy with how it was latching in so i decided to trim it so it would go up into the bonnet. still gt to just touch it up to finish it off but it now works a treat. i also got a new light blue ford badge to finish the bonnet off. got my number plate fitted too. really happy with the results. just need to align my bonnet and do a few other jobs and its off for mot on wednesday!

Default Passed mot

HELLO ALL. WELL THE CAR FLEW THROUGH THE MOT NO PROBS. HOWEVER IT HAS AN ENGINE FAULT EVEN THO THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT. WHEN ACCELERATING YOU GET A TICKING NOISE FROM THE BOTTOM END. REALLY GUTTED ABOUT THIS. SO ITS UP ON STANDS AND SUMP OFF. HERES A FEW PICS OF IT BEFORE THE MOT.

when to the engine centre today. the chap said the bearings are shot, he suspecs something has got in the oil i.e a bit of metal or grit and has scored them badly causing a knock. so new big ends it is. and main bearings too.

Looks great mate.

I have been where you are with regards to the engine a couple of times.
Have you had anything sandblasted/ powder coated engine wise? Rocker cover or inlet maybe? Pretty sure it was left overs from this process this which killed a set of bearings in mine. Did you have good oil pressure? Gauge?

I'm sure you'll get it sorted out.

hello mate no didnt have any bits blasted and coated engine wise. i think it could have been down to some crud being sat in one of the oil gallery's and now its been ran its been released and killed my bearings. am going to be fitting a gauge asap. the oil is deffo getting around the engine fine as the top is always full of fresh oil.

No way, you can't sell it now not after all your work, what's making you sell? At least keep it so you can use it next summer.
