Cool sierra sapphire twincam resto :) (update-09-10-11-mot'd, basically finished!)

been on this a while now and thought i should start a thread on my sierra, its a 1992 sapphire, only a 2 litre twincam but at 17 surely that would do me lol. after a lot of thought i decided to strip it down and restore it, well to a limit. so far ive got the engine out, front end stripped, back end stripped, interior stripped except dash, back axle and petrol tank out. after a good look in under it ive decided to reshell it as cossie09 has a real good shell that hes keeping for me

the plans are:
strip back to metal underneath and spray white, sort out engine n that, tighten the lsd, cossie bumpers, 4x4 bonnet, cossie interior. basically im hoping to make a mint cossie rep.

so heres a few pics of how she looked and my progress up to now.

at the start:

engine out:

engine bay stripping:

interior out:

and back axle out:

nice lsd :P

me brother might have bother gettin out lol

well thats it up to dat, il update this as and when i get more done

aye they need the 4x4 bonnet lol.

right another update with a few pictures, today i started to strip the engine. so far i have removed the gearbox, clutch (which is like new), flywheel, alt and p/s pump, rocker cover, intake manifold, water pump, timing covers and a few other wee bits.

now i need to see how to slacken and remove the timing chain so the head can be lifted off. also for some reason al the cam clearences are less than 0.04mm or touching, can this be adjusted or anything like that?

anyway some pics, the 4x4 bonnet needing some work

engine stripping..

and how every bolt from the sierra is kept...
