we update..
went to look at the new shell yesterday with a slight hangover lol, really impressed with it. needs some small holes patched, but nothing major. but the best bit is it has 4 electric windows, electric sunroof, heated front windscreen and an on board computer so much better than my own shell, which doesnt even have front electric windows lol,
the plan is to lift the shell tomorrow evening also i ordered my spit which should be here within a fortnight thats all for now

its coming along well lad, i brought the shell home yesterday, and have the engine bay stripped, its nearly all stripped atm anyway, engine is rightly stripped, next step is to get it on the spit and get workin underneath
well i bought it out of a 4x4 hatchback although i dont know if it originally came from it, needs tightened lol

Nice one, wish i had space for a spit!!! both lsd's will obviously work, but really the 2.0 xr4x4 ratio is much better for them than the 2.8/2.9 friend has the 2.9 one on his DOHC and it killed the performance a fair bit, great fun in the rain though You should get your self on the sierra owner club, loads of great stuff on there, all from 16v conversions through to 2.3 conversions etc, well worth a read.
You just need to find your self a turbo techincs conversion kit and your sorted
Keep up the good work, got a real soft spot for them.

well the spit should be here next thursday, i didnt notice any real difference in power between the standard diff and the lsd, and the lsd is 7" compared to the standard 7.5", i did notice that i could drift in 3rd in the wet though, not easy for a efi lol.
i must take a look on it lad, and please tell me more about the 16v conversion lol, thats what ive been wanting to do
id have a cossy turbo before id bother setting up a turbo on mine lol
thanks lad, i love them

Pretty straight forward mate, scorpio 2.0 16v head (cheap) bolts right on, buy yout self megasquirt or a scorpio ecu, mega squirt would be better. Some rs2000 cams and your away. With megasquirt and rs2000 cams with no cat i should think you would be knocking on the door of 160-170bhp big improvement over the standard 125. The 2.3 conversion is a little more involved, but is good for 180-190, and some decent torque!

ok big update. as i said earlier i got the shell home, i then stripped the engine bay with only a few components left. well i finally took some pictures of it lol.
also my spit arrived earlier than expected and on time too :P it fitted perfect into the chassis but i have a few concerns about strength, we'll see about that later tonight. im hoping that there will be no nasty surprises when i turn it on its side
anyway heres some pics of the shell and the spit and progress up to last night
few pics of the spit
and one for your time
