Thanks mate.

Started wiring in the autronic today, all seems to be going well so far, its nice starting with a blank canvas rather than having to patch into existing looms etc, although obviously more time consuming.

Got a trackday in just under 4 weeks that I am hoping it will be ready for although sadly am working away from home other than weekends till then so that will limit how much time I can spend on it.

When are you going to scare me in this, then?

You will need a wide seat to do so at the moment

Lol, no chance you'll fit in it mate, I've just lost 2 stone and only just fit the seats. Lol.

Made some progress this weekend but most of it was just stuff like wiring so not got pictures of that but got one showing the new driving position.

Have lowered the steering column down and have extended it and fitted a popoff boss for the wheel.
Also moved the gear lever back a few inches to keep it in the correct position relative to the steering wheel and seat.

Pedals next weekend and a bit more wiring but sadly am working away from home till Friday and I'm drifting on Sunday and camping over sat evening so prob only going to get a few hours near the car realistically.

found a picture of a mk1 with a similar sized wheel and with the same 172 clock binacle in it just to show the relative amount of movement of the steering wheel position:

Well its got an MOT on it now with the temporary williams engine in it and I drove it briefly a few weeks ago before the tax ran out, few jobs needed to do so wont bother taxing it again now till december or january, but im actually quite pleased with how it drives so far.

Hopefully will be a good car for the mrs to get some trackday practice in this year with the williams lump, and then I can look at swapping the honda one over next winter.

Might be buying another house next year though, so all a bit up in the air financially at the moment!
