Still is only cosmetic and lets hope there is no structural damage under the wing or to the door pillar.

Did the pikie have insurance or are you going to just get it repaired?

 

Not had the door off to look yet but the whole door has been pushed backwards the the a pillar is kinked slightly rather than totally curved.

Not sure whats happening with it yet, at the moment i cant afford to have it repaired if the insurance see it as my fault or knock for knock. I can't even get them to take the other guys details off me, they just want to process a personal injury claim and give me a hire car.

I defo cannot buy a new rim. Getting the same story everywhere i try "Ronal dont make them in that fitment anymore due to lack of demand"

I know you can't see the point of keeping the car at the moment but you will seriously regret selling it off without completing it. Please just hold out till you get the final word from the insurers.

Im sure there's some Ronal Turbo's kicking around somehwere....there has to be! You've spent such a long time building it up to then let her go after something like this. I've come to the same point with my car soooooo many times, and you just gotta battle on, cuz I know for sure that once you're back in there you'll fall in love with it all over again!

i remember you coming on xrtwo.com and showing everyone the pics from when you originally started your project and i was amazed at the time and effort and planning that'd gone into it.

everything is done so perfectly it's amazing!! exactly how i would have done it if i had the cash and patience!!

but such a massive wounder about the incident with the van, as everyone else has said though, leave it in the garage and return to it as and when you feel up to it. it's far too nice and too much of your mind and heart is in this car to simply sell it off to someone else for them to claim the fame for it!!


sorry for the silly long post but i felt it deserves your attention to not sell it!!

Cheers lads, im still in two minds what to do yet as i still cant get the rims. The link to the ones James posted are the wrong fitment for the Ka - Bugger!

The plan this week

Im hopefully gonna be whacking on a set of black Escort Cossie rims soon. Ive sourced the replacment manta mirror that was smashed off.

Im then hopefully going to source a door and get the inside of it sprayed up and then fit it. Order the new front arches and fit them and have a new wing welded on ready for a bit of paintwork.

Thats the plan anyway as im missing the speed. I dont think the shafts will last long though trying to spin them huge cossie rims.

There are a good few Ka turbo's being built at the moment. Here is the one currently in my garage. The plan is to build the whole car, and get it legally on the road for less than 3k! Thats includes buying the Ka itself.
