It's got a 7.5" gripper rear diff with race ramps and 3.9 cwp that's been shot peened and super finished to strengthen it a bit, also runs a temp switched mocal oil cooler system
Front diff is currently standard open diff with 3.9 shot peened and super finished cwp and strengthening plate with casing drilled and fitted with 8mm studs (will buy a gripper or quaife unit soon as funds allow)
Gearbox is currently going to be a rebuilt standard item to hopefully last long enough to mot and check the engine map in car then I'm liking the oppliger gear kits but il have to wait and see
Thanks mate
Least I'm prepared and know the gearbox is chocolate and probably won't last Tommy's road test

Boost Junkie
Engine sounds superb Marc.
If you haven't purchased the turbo yet I'd strongly recommend one of the Scooby Clinic
billet wheeled 30R's.
They spool faster making more torque and approx same peak power as a stock 35R.
I'm tempted to swap my 35 for a billet 30.
A stock 3076 will see approx 550bhp max, these Billet 30s have seen over 600bhp on just a .63 rear housing.
Best of luck mate. It's certainly a dream spec motor for a very special car.

Had some spare time the last few days and since moving my seat back I've wanted to bring the steering wheel back closer to me as I prefer it really close so no matter how erratic it gets or crossed up I can work with it comfortably
So went on eBay and bought this
Into the shed to fire up the trusty mini lathe and out with the centre drill
Then slowly step by step bored out to match the ID of the momo steering wheel
Ended up with this
Turned down the center section the drilled the bolt circle
All tidy'd up and dummies in place as I didn't have the correct length or type bolts so ignore the wrong bolts in the pics
I know a longer column is the perfect way but that's not happening right now and I like making things

The mess that was created just from making this spacer was beyond belief!!! took me longer to clear up after than make the spacer i reckon
Plus i had to modify my little lathe as there was not enough outward travel on the cross slide to turn such a big part so that took a few hours to re do the cross slide screw and mill and counterbore the spacer etc
But handy for any future large pieces i want to turn etc

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
I gotta say it everytime I read this, this is a great build and an absolute weapon when it's all said and done, could you explain why the denso coils needed to be off a specific car/model??

I will have a looky mate as the more options the better imo, thanks
Very glad fella, i honestly didn't think this day was going to come lol but i can finally say i actually have a xxxbhp cossie engine
The light is still dim but yes there is one at last, to be honest its been so long since i drove something fast, and i have never owned a car over 340bhp so even if after transmission losses its say 400bhp at the wheels then i will be well happy
If it gets finished tomorrow which it should then it would have been 3 days but 1 day was fooking around trying to sort the coil on plug issue so id say 2 days really,
The engine power/boost will be turned down to nothing once it is off the dyno just to be safe while i give the rest of the car a drive and nut and bolt check etc then once i know there are no other issues then Tommy will go over the map and bring it back to full power (or where we are happy with it) and check it in the car on a 4wd hub dyno but it is important to get some easy road miles on the car to sort any mechanical isses or leaks etc out beforehand as the hub dyno session will be expensive if we have to stop for a mechanical problem that i should have sorted or fixed
Thanks mate, it makes a hell of a difference when you have a few diy metal working tools to hand doing these things, personally now i would never again be without a lathe, pillar drill or welder, they are invaluable
Yeah he had only mapped to 1.2 bar so that was all he could show me and it was 5pm on a friday so was home time lol but it's a good start,
No idea on the torque figures im afraid as Tommy did not do the figure of the proper program with a graph, just a quick bhp calculation with revs/load etc but hopefully all fingers crossed it will be totally finished tomorrow and il let you all know then
Thanks Matt, Just seen your update that your all done and running etc, i will be well chuffed when that day comes i can tell you lol
Thanks again people for your positive comments

Im guessing the car will be out at the later part of this year, id hoped around central day but cant see it,
I will use it for a good year on track as and when i can so i know it inside out then il look into other things but yes id love to do something competitive but on a small scale where no exchanging of paint is allowed

I sure did Fella, heart sunk for a milisecond but all was well
It's a nerve racking thing to watch though i think if your not used to it, and mine isn't even a "big" engine so to speak, would hate to watch an 800+bhp engine on a dyno or anything that is unknown territory

Dyno session all done and dusted now
BIG BIG thanks to all the guys and girls down at Field Motorsport especially Tommy Field himself and Tristan, but also Lynn, Lee and John.
They helped me out in every way possible whilst they have been doing my engine, going the extra mile to help keep to my budget, and always putting up with my questions and constant pestering lol
Very happy indeed and can't recommend them enough, i couldn't be happier with the service
Problem with the Denso coil on plugs sorted as well which was a result
It was a simple error, Tommy said he thought of the mistake he made once he was home on Friday, after correcting the phase being 360deg out he had not swapped some settings to do with firing 1&2 or 3&4 or something like that, so soon as he was in this morning he tried it and all was good and it run sweet as a nut, he also said after testing them the spark created was very strong and he's very impressed with them, better than he thought they would be
Couple more photo's i took today
Cops back on
Just want to tidy the route of the earths for the cops so they are going to be modded slightly for neatness, also again just for looks, when the plugs were ordered for some reason 2 greys turned up and 2 black so i want them all black as im a bufty fooker
The brains of the engine
I am a happy chappy today, massive milestone reached and am now the proud owner of a lively turbo YB engine
Oh yeah and the engine cover will be in Tommy's usual colors but he thought i painted the cover crackle black so didn't touch it, but i bought it like that and have asked for his colors etc to be done before i pick it up which will look much better imo
Couple more vids to come soon too
