As much as I love the T6, they're so expensive and rare. Not that the F88 is cheap by any means, but it's younger and far more advanced.

Not at all But the point is, it's a complex piece of kit and you want a lot of reassurance that whoever is mapping your car knows what they're doing. Ryan and Tommy do

Jobbie bit ???

You mean Jon boy?

Gary's a bit dearer than spotter but will have it done in a few weeks where as spotter could be 6 months so went for the dearer option

Well sorted the last few bits for the engine, a bit of hose and some fittings along with some fire sleeve for the turbo return Aeroquip etc,

Also sorted these

Thanks for all the info people gave me to source the correct ones etc, it's much appreciated.

So will be taking them down to the guys at FMS Monday so that the cam cover can be machined for them to fit, that is the last bit needed for the engine build now

Gary measured up for the loom on Thursday so that is sorted, also decided on the ecu controlling the cooling fans and the fuel pumps completely along with proper motorsport NTK UEGO wideband set up so the ecu has gone back for a couple more outputs to be added, do it once do it right as they say

Also for my birthday my lovely girlfriend got me some crotch straps for my harnesses lol

There's a bit of slack to be tidied up on the straps so i may mount them on the rear bar rather than the front so there is less slack to wrap up out the way, whatever is neatest

cracking as always marc!!

when i used crotch straps i moved the buckle bit onto them, as every time i undone it to get out the seat, the belt with the buckle on swung out and clouted the door lol

so moved it to the crotch strap so it would just hang there lol

Hi Mark , i would also have a egt and oil pressure added for safety to the engine, any incorrect readings and the ecu can go to limp mode !

I,ve got the same lambda on my f88 not cheap but it will work all the way to the limiter

Hi Fella

It is having egt, and already has fuel press and oil press for the ecu to work with,

Fudgey - good point I may swap it over then as mine hits the door as well lol

Joined this forum looking for JWRC 4x4 builds, but this is just mental!! Its a fantastic build and cant wait to see it finished!!

My current car will be finished (to where I want it) next year... then I need a project

I was hoping for a car that I could eventually go rallying in, but it seems like the mods are just too much for the MSA. Still debating on this car because of that, but still really tempted.

So when do you expect it to be up and running?

Thanks for the comments people,

No real updates of yet as I'm waiting for dyno time now which should be in the next few weeks hopefully,

Inlet is now fitted along with throttle body etc, new "asnew" injectors,(not fitted in pic) both crank sensors fitted as well as the loom was being made from scratch we thought may as well run twins just in case,

Waiting for 1 more breather fitting as the 45 bend I had didn't clear the engine mount nicely so fitting a straight instead, the rocker cover has had the castles machined off for the coil on plugs, just need prepping and painting in the FMS colors, other than that I think its dyno ready so nothing to update till then regarding the engine,

As for other updates I did get a dash2 and F88 interface lead with a mixture of birthday money and early Xmas money

Fingers crossed mate, once the engine is back from Field Motorsport then other than a bit of plumbing with hoses etc, the 2 main things are an exhaust system and the entire car wiring, the wiring will be the thing that holds me back as it's looks like that could cost between 3 and 4k so need to do a fair bit of saving

I don't think it would be up to M-Sports standards but it's good enough for me lol, thanks though fella i appreciate your praises

I think it'll look nicer in the original position if you are having the dashboard in there, but then depends where it's easiest seen?

wouldn't it be better to have it in the dash, regarding reflections from the sun/surroundings?

or maybe the sun isn't a big concern in the uk?

another option is to have both positions, that way you could use the touringcar-position when you are doiing testing and need to have a good look at the diffrent values, and dash-position when you are getting more comfortable with the car. when i'm looking at the build-style here i don't think reliability should be a concern.....
