Just signed up to this site just to comment on this thread and has taken me about 4/5 hours to read through the whole thing. The attention to detail is superb

I too have a Fiesta, be it an ST and always consider selling but seeing yours makes me want to keep it

Can't wait to see and hear some videos of this up and running

I am sure i remember thinking the same thing myself when i bought the pulley off MK ages ago and i am sure it is made like that to look like the other verniers available but the jackshaft pulley does not actually adjust

I had matching verniers at the time but sold them for the better safer quaife peg drive items fitted now, il check later that the jackshaft is not adjustable as should be stopping in at FMS later but im sure it is not, maybe if MK see's this he will clarify

Not sayin yours are bad Mark I didn't mean it like that sorry just that the peg drive eliminates that slim risk that I have seen happen, like on Ronnie Amis 3 door causing bent valves etc

In theory if the jackshaft adjustment slipped it wouldn't do anything would it as its just a guide pully for the belt as long as it didn't come off altogether

Not done much at late as funds concentrated on the engine build still but I fitted my diff cooler fluid switch last night

Switches the diff oil cooler pump on at 180f & turns it off at 165f, just need a new magnetic drain/filler plug

Also got hold of an Elliot 3 bar 80mm boost gauge of Diva, thanks mate

It fits 100% snug with no modding to the original vent holes, just need something else to go in the other middle vent I think

Bare in mind the dash will be flocked and the ally switch panel will be carbon,

Not much else to report, on the hunt for a new GT3076r with ported shroud and .82 rear housing (not gtx) I got 1 off eBay but turned out to be wrong when it turned up even though I checked with the fella on the phone before sendin cash! Some people are just clueless, got a full refund so no major drama.

Got the last few bits on the engine build sorted, zorst manifold had all faces re ground flat, inlet injector piece has been port matched,

Tommy has spoke to Life Racing who is doing me an ecu, once that is done a new raychem loom will be made and il order the coil on plugs, so maybe in the next couple of months it will be all done & dyno'd

What calipers are you using on the rear Mark?
Do they have mechanical handbrake?

Also just noticed your running AG rear steering arms are they different from the ones i bought off you? for some reason i thought you sold me yours as you were going to run MK Motorsport ones

Hi Dave

I run ap 5200 calipers on the rear, no mechanical handbrake attachment as yet,

I was going to run MK wrc copies but the angles AG welded on all my brackets did not suit or match up so I sold them and made up new ones the same as I sold you, AG preferred them as they hold the wheel wider than the wrc ones as wrc items had to fit in behind 15" gravel wheels, AG were specifically made to fit 18" wheels

Ah ok cool i might try the one's i got off you in and see how they live

Do your rear shock's sit bob on vertical? , camber and castor?
What camber / castor are you running? , dont suppose your looking for tyre life more handling?
What length spring's are you running in the rear? poundage?
sorry for all the questions but trying to gauge other set ups

Cheers David

The shocks are pretty much verticle but I have not set any geometry etc, that will be done at a later date,

Springs are 10.5" long and fronts are 650lb I think with 500lb rears, and I want a softer back end not a skittish one but I fully expect to buy a few sets of springs in various poundages and lengths before I'm happy

Tyre wear is of no importance, handling is key for me

Thanks for the info

Going off my first try out's i recon i'll need to drop from 12" rear springs to something shorter i was thinking 8-10" dont really know about spring poundages think ill start with 200-220lbs then increase as needed

Been scanning through the pages of this build thread and its absolutely amazing. I love to see cars like this being produced. When I saw the original car on page one I was sceptical, but now it's epic. Well done fella for having the time and funds to make this.

Thanks mate, yeah it has taken some serious dedication to fund and commit to the build that's for sure but all worth it and it's what i love doing

Glad you like it mate, it's the small things that let most cars down at the end, don't get me wrong, mine is not perfect and nor is it a factory finish everywhere, but everywhere has been considered and nothing hidden away because i could not be bother to sort it properly etc, im a fussy fooker lol

Last few bits of the engine build are coming together now so in the next few months il hope to have the engine completed,

Mike at Life Racing is in the process of sorting me an ecu via Tommy, to keep costs down and the fact that the F88 ecu has more functions than il ever use, like air jack controls lol, he is putting me together a 1 off ecu that has a lesser spec board that still incorporates everything i want like als, launch control, twin maps, closed loop, coil on plug etc etc

I am having a brand new engine loom made to suit the above also, those 2 things are what is going to take the time i think but that gives me a chance to earn more money to pay for it lol

In the meantime i have sourced this little number

Name: 36409FC6-FD6A-4B76-B008-4EFBAD41EB0C-4477-000006F9776174F6.jpg

Genuine garrett gt3076r turbo with uprated bearing cages, 7 blade inducer compressor wheel, .82 rear housing and a v-band adapter, all brand spanking new and all for the sum of £750,

Also got a few fittings for it from Torques, oil drain, -6 water feed and return and a -12 to -10 reducer for my sump as the turbo return fitting on my sump was -12 so needed to step it down a size, Got to ring and order the in line oil filter and -4 oil restrictor for it tomorrow

A few more pics

So bar the coil on plugs & a bit of plumbing that is the completed engine now just awaiting the loom and ecu for dyno session

So far so good

Thanks

Nice choice on ECU mate, have a chat with John Coles about it, the thing is amazing! Ryan mapped his in the end, typical proper mapper who's just in zone with this ECU

Also the T6 i had my eye on got sold a week before i had the cash so that option was gone and there so old now its hard to come accross a good 1 with the later software and all updates anymore

The gtx have a tendancy to surge from what i have read so it put me off a bit, the gt3076r seems to have good reports, Tommy agreed it's a good choice for what i want and the fact it was £750 with the 82 housing, v band and the 7 blade inducer comp wheel etc meant i could not pass it up,

If i step up to a more expensive turbo then il wait till the cars been on the road a while and go the whole hog with a borg warner twin scroll set up
