Well the car is finished, polished and roof vent bolted back on, just the door scuff trims to stick on but this will be done when I get home in case they come off on the 280 mile journey,

Stunning

Gaz also done me a favour by cutting down the jigs the shell is bolted to as it sat extremely high on the trailer on the way up even behind a 4x4 so it's now as low as it can be so should be better behind the low mondeo estate

Wow Mark some cracking work there! You have done so many little neat touches and attention to detail, very impressive. The car looks great painted, although I would have for silver on the inside. Once you get it home and bolt all them nice shiny bits on you'll be like a big kid on christmas day!!

I specifically wanted it dark inside to hide the dirt etc once it gets a bit worn and used lol, yeah putting stuff back on for a change is gonna be nice

Thanks mate, as soon as funds allow it will be finished mate but as you can imagine it ain't cheap lol and some of the most expensive parts are still to buy

There is no structural point to the rear of the car left hence the intensity of the cage at the rear, without it it would fall off lol, the cage holds the turrets, the seat belts, the diff and the rear link arms for the suspension set up, the cage is EVERYTHING!

He has been extremely helpful mate, that's why i am willing to travel the 550 miles to get the car painted, same with the 900 mile round trip to Andrew's, if i want it done right i would travel to wherever i think is best

Seen this in flesh at ag's half built and it looked something special,

Hope the rest of the build goes smoothly

Had a small delivery of parts from Mark @ MK Motorsport today so i now have everything needed for the 4 corners of the car minus the brakes

Still un decided if these should be kept as ornaments or go on the car

Uprights with bearing caps, front and rear steering arms

Sleeved standard wheel flanges to suit the larger grp a type bearing

Name: IMG_1622.jpg
Views: 413
Size: 119.7 KB

Quite a hoard of awesomeness

BIG BIG thanks to Mark for sorting these for me

Also machined up some spacers to suit the rear steering arms as Mark had not yet got round to doing any and sent them to him so he can copy them in stainless and then supply them with his steering arms, think that is the plan

The zinc spacers are 5/8 same as the rear steering arm bars, i bought these from McGill Motorsport as they are but as show in the photo below, due to having a flat edge they did not butt up against the edge of the steering arm nicely, so a slight chamfer was needed

Name: IMG_1567.jpg
Views: 387
Size: 75.4 KB

Once it had been put in the lathe and a chamfer made to the inner edge
Name: IMG_1568.jpg
Views: 411
Size: 66.9 KB

A comparison of standard and modded spacer
Name: IMG_1565.jpg
Views: 399
Size: 107.1 KB

Then to space out as much as possible whilst allowing the nyloc nut to use all the thread on the steering arm i had to machine from scratch a high misalignment spacer for the inside edge, this had to be approx 6mm wider than the other, i had some random alloy stock so this is what i made the spacer from that was sent to Mark along with the modded zinc spacer so they can be made by him from stainless

Here are the spacers fitted

Size: 153.8 KB

Name: IMG_1570.jpg
Views: 388
Size: 109.7 KB

That is all for now folks

Thanks
Marc

I think the uprights are listed on Marks website at £750 a pair, not sure what is included for that though.
