The whole lot is going frozen white mate, its a nice looking colour, makes it easy to paint individual parts if i have a whack on track etc and its a good clean base for stickers/graphics if i go down that route depending on what i enter the car into.

thanks
Marc

I was in 2 minds as well mate, as i am not a fan of the lumpy side light on the face lift light but with the clear glass and large round lights for main and indicator it's a much cleaner and newer look so it had to be done i thought and i am happy with it. Also the fact that you will get much better light from the face lift headlight with the option of hid/xenon kits etc if you were to use it enough on the road so its also function over form.

8x18's under standard arches is pretty good going as even with my large tubs and super wide front arches 8x18 are only comfortable and Andrew said not to push it with 9x18 on the front,

nice car though thats for sure

Are you going for a full new car loom Marc? IIRC the rear lights from pre and face lift have something different wiring wise each side, could be the fog and reverse lights?

Cheers guys,

Yeah the car loom will be done pretty much from scratch so not bothered about things being different wiring wise.

The mileage on the fiesta was 157000 when I got it, belonged to a 60yr old traveling sales rep women so had been round the world and was filthy and stinking inside lol but perfect as a base for the project.

regarding you using loads of paint

what sort of pressure are you spraying at ? as you should be spraying at about 40psi on the water trap/gauge ,

if your spraying at alot more that you,ll be getting alot more bounce back and basically wasting more materials ,

No major updates mate as money goes elsewhere at xmas so its getting put to one side over crimbo and new year.

Although i had planned a few small things to mess around with over the holidays like trim parts and fitting the door cards properly etc just to keep me tinkering but i smashed my knee up yesterday quite bad so im no good for anything now apart from drinking beer

As for de-tangoing the lights i do want to do that but havent looked how yet? any guides anywhere? i assume il have to heat gun the glass/plastic to remove it from the light unit to get at it all

thanks
Marc

best way is to take the units out, take the indicator bulb out and then poke the lense through, next bit is the fiddly bit you need 2 needle nose pliers and put the through the indicator hole and grab the lense and snap it so you can pull the bits through the hole, take bit of time but makes a big difference

hope that makes sense if not ill give you a link of a picture how to lol

EDIT heres the link for you

I am not bored mate its just this thing really is eating some cash and everything i need to buy or have built or do is 4 figures and i don't have a lump some anymore like i did to pay for the shell work so bits are getting done monthly with payday but progress is still being made , just very very slowly.

The car was going to go in to be painted end of January but again that's another 2 grand and then it will just sit in the garage and probably get knocked/scratched as i will have no money to do anything else, so instead i am concentrating on the engine at the moment along with a few other bits.

My 200 block has been long studded, had the lug removed below the alternator so i can use a drop bracket and had the oil return drilled and tapped straight into the block rather than back into the filter take off and a couple of other things drilled and tapped.

My crank is off for the full works, polish, lighten and balance and knife edge etc although i found out it is on 0.25 grind already, Ronnie was mistaken when i bought it as he assured me it was standard but that's one of those things so i am still going to use it as it doesn't need further grind and can stay on .25,

My rods are off for shot peening and new little end bushes being fitted to suit new pistons, and when that lot is back the block will go off to be bored to 0.5 for the new pistons.

Also sorted a wrc breather for the engine as i was about to order a new one and another one come up silly cheap and i know its the proper kit so that's another part sorted.

I have also had a load of parts done by Mark at MK MOTORSPORT just waiting for a few more bits then i will show you that little lot.

The plan is to have the engine fully built up with everything bar the turbo itself by the end of march, but time will tell i suppose.

I don't know mate as i may step up a size on the turbo and go for 500-550bhp so the transmission is likely to last 5 seconds
