Well thought i would give you a bit of an update as although things are happening there's not much to show for it lately so a parts update is probably the best thing,
so......
BIG BIG THANKS TO MARK @ MK MOTORSPORT![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/roi.gif)
He has sorted me out with a full array of his awesome billet parts for my engine build, including 36-1 crank pulley, water pump pulley, aux pulley, small crank tooth pulley, alternator bracket and drop bracket, standard cps bracket and a ss crank pulley bolt,

He also sorted me out with one of his billet air injector brackets with cam cover posts to mount it on.
I had the air injectors sent off and checked then rubbed them down and re painted them as they were a bit battered, in the pic is the old air injector mounting bodies but i have new ones on the way so it will all be nice and new

There's a few more parts waiting to come from MK MOTORSPORT but these haven't landed yet but hopefully soon so will put pics up when they do, i am waiting on a billet alternator pulley, ss aux bolt, some new air injector bodies and a billet wrc crank sensor bracket![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
He also made up some custom high tensile bolts to suit my custom wrc style tca pins the AG made me, he done them to my dimensions incorporating a washer/step and finished them in the same style as his ss cam pulley bolts and they came out perfect but don't have any pics to hand at the moment.
So big thanks to Mark for some great parts at fantastic prices, if you need any billet parts or one off custom parts then i recommend you give him a shout![Clap](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/9c-clap.gif)

As for the rest of the build its still going slowly and i have spent a few quid on new tools etc lately to help me along the way and i was fed up of spending 10 times as long doing things as i should because i didnt have the correct tools,
So i went out and bough a 6 ton hydraulic press, now i know its an ebay import cheap job but hang on because i thought the same! but after someone said they weren't that bad i thought i would give one a try as compared to the Ł200 + at machine mart for a 10 ton item this one was Ł61.40 as i collected it from the firm 2 minutes from my house (its Ł71.40 delivered) and it works perfectly, ideal for the diy/home mechanic and it done the jobs i had struggled with (and even caused damaged to parts while trying other methods of removal
) easily and took minutes so here is a link to the item
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-Ton-Industri...item1c180af9c7
GET ONE![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
Also on my list of things i shouldnt be without was a work bench, a bench grinder, decent vice and last but not least a press drill all these items are invaluable imo and now i have them i cant see how i did without them,
you can just make out the press beside the bench

Back to the parts i have been buying non stop lol
Got a load of the sensors and accessories needed for the engine build as you forget these parts but they all add up to a fair few quid, i still have to order my bosch 5 bar map sensor and billet housing and oil pump but im getting there,

Also in that picture is the mocal remote filter fittings, although the return for the oil will be going back to the block ala wrc/grpa engines so one port on the take off will be blanked off,
Got hold of another aeromotive fuel pressure reg, some people dont like these but i have used them before and for me they worked perfectly

Got a friend Karl to weld me some aeroquip to my thermostat housing, i already had one with this done but the water pump pipe was quite corroded so i sourced a decent one and had new fittings welded on,

Karl also made me up a 4x4 sump baffle, using the original ford pressed baffle plate, he sells these for Ł85 which is a hell of alot cheaper than anywhere else, and they can come with or without the weights on the gates,

If you want his contact details then just send me a pm, he is working on the proper wrc 2 piece 4x4 gated sump baffle as well but its not done yet and will be a lot more expensive but will keep you posted,
I got all the fittings need to suit my double pump and filter set up and also the tial external gate and fuel rail, i can now say my aeroquip fettish is well and truly back![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)

That is just a few of the threaded adapter fittings believe me![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
Also underway is the refurb of a few parts, first of is the grp a bladed roll bars, so new bushes and mounts sorted and the blades cleaned up ready for plating

Chris latham is going to be powder coating the roll bars for me along with all the wrc rear link bars and tca/comp struts to start with then slowly as needed he will be doing hubs and flanges etc,
And lastly i think on the engine front, next week my sump should be ready from FMS after having some more fittings welded on and the big wing section oil holes drilled into one large channel, and i should have back my shot peened rods and fully worked crank to show you along with a wrc breather i picked up![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
And i almost forgot, FMS has supplied me an 8 injector version T6 ecu ready for the engine build too
And they have 7 more available as of last week, three 8 inj versions and four 4 inj versions too, at Ł1000 each roughly so get in touch if you need one,
God this is an expensive hobby

Cheers guys,
The plan now is to leave the car itself alone and purely buy and get ready everything for it so that when it comes to going together I will have 99% of the parts sitting new or rebuilt ready to bolt on, the only downside is it's a shed load of cash that's needed lol

Just spotted the fitting from your 4x4 Thermostat Housing........
Am I right in thinking the -8 Fitting would go to your Water Temp at the back right hand side of the Head ? Maybe via the Car Heater Matrix ????
And the -4 Fitting is for the Turbo Water Feed ????
If that's the case does that mean the Outlet from the Water Pump (the on that points at 7-8 o'clock) goes back to the Header Tank ????
Been struggling to get my head round this for about a Month !
Many thanks..........Car looks superb by the way.

Made myself some new anti roll bar drop links as the old ones were very worn and battered, you can see how battered they were in this pic below,

and although you cant tell from a pic the rose joints were well worn so i wanted new ones, i know you can get normal tube already threaded left and right but i much prefer the hex than round bar with flats,
i bought a length of alloy 5/8th hex bar and cut it into the correct lengths, here is a pic of the off cut to show how it started

then i had it turned on a lathe to leave just the spanner sections top and bottom for easy adjusting, and a 8.5mm hole drilled through it ready for tapping,

Got myself a left and right handed m10x1.5 tap off ebay and tapped a lh & rh into each piece and fitted with the high performance rose joints i got from McGill motorsport and walaa you have yourself 4 new rose joints for a fraction of the price you can buy them anywhere else, and i could of saved alot more money if i had my own lathe so may pick one up next month,

might get to do them by the weekend.
having the machinery saves loads of time, not only money. the result might not be as 'pro' or as shiney, or look as 'bling' but if it does the job, and the bonus being if you made it yourself, you then become less of a 'cheque book racer' - its all part of the enjoyment to me.
good on you for the effort to produce

Not sure as of yet Marc, not had any updates or anything so will contact him once home, i need to drop all the stuff off from Mk anyway as he will need those parts.
Im in no hurry i suppose, just really the box to buy parts wise and seats ect, then it can be built back up, see how it goes.

Some may say its overkill and there probably right as i may never need a 5bar compared to a 3bar but for the extra Ł20 in price and the fact it would have to be re mapped if i changed at a later date i thought why not fit i one now as its only Ł20 and i will be machining my own billet manifold for it![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
Also i bought these Pro Alloy twin spal fans and laser cut plate for my cossie Pro Alloy rad of off Fudgey Who is breaking his written off 3 door, i will be giving the plate a rub down and having it black along with the cooler and rad so will freshen it up a bit,

Stripped down the front shafts again as they will be going off for powder coating along with the lobro housings, all bearing parts degreased and now been left in oil to keep them from going rusty,

Also stripped down the front hubs and flanges so they too can be sent away and powder coated, managed to get the new bearings out completely intact as well which was a result

I have absolutely no idea what rate the springs are and cant find any info on them so i think to be safe i will work out a good starting point/poundage for my cars rough weight and use and buy news ones before they go back on the car,
I made a note of the numbers on the billy inserts though as i want to know what there from and a quick check in the grpa/wrc manuals tells me the they are tarmac based,
FRONTS
part number 9095642 - tarmac strut body
9095863 - 550/200 insert
REARS
part number 9096010 - 450/120 insert
Does anybody know if these inserts are good for what i want in a track car? obviously the fact they were for a tarmac set up is a good start,
What poundage springs should i run with them?
Also if i want to get the cases zinc plated etc to tidy them up can i just unbolt the bottom 17mm nut and pull the insert out the case or is it not that simple???
Also can these be re filled or overhauled by anyone still as one front one is very slow to return compared to the other!
Any info on that little lot would be appreciated![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
Got my billet block through the post today so at some point i will machine up the manifold for the 5 bar map sensor

inserts will unscrew once you have the nut off, do not lose it, they are metric fine thread.
I would beware of the valving on them struts dependant on your cars weight, and if your car is as light as it should be, no settings from escort/sierra will have any relevance.
