lol @ dave

so didnt get a chance to get over to k's wed n thurs

but got over tonight to finish the head off ,

all the valves we lapped so it was on with fitting the stem seals and refitting springs ect

so stem seals

only every use matt lewis for my parts , blokes a diamond always has what i need and one of the cheapest in the business !!

pulled out the other twins lol

custom made valve seal fitting drifts , alot of folks use a socket but they run the risk of damaging the seal and tearing it

what they look like at the business end

with seals in

seals all in

anyway got all the valves fitted , springs collets ect ,

dug my ported and polished inlet trumpet section down off the shelf

bit grubby from the dust lol

anyway , scotched it off and cleaned it up ready for paint

then got on masking up the head

thanks to spesh for the help with the fiddly bits

then he busted out the 2k silver ,same as what the bing wing sumps painted with

painted

will be lacqured tomorrow

then once my bearings arrive it should be on with the bottom end build

beef

Congratulations mate, looks really smart!

How difficult are the cam bearing faces to clean up after acid dipping? And apart from looking well smart, are there any advantages to coil on plug set ups like yours?

Cheer's David
there toyota yaris coils dave , im in discussions at the mo regards if l8 can run them , ive been told it can but in a wasted spark format i.e firing in pairs of 2 , only issue with that is the dwell time on the coils , dwell being the recharge time for the coil to fire the spark and if there ran in pairs it effectively halves there recharge time ,

ideally they need to be ran in proper sequential mode ( firing individualy) and cossie management cant do it .........

would love to go aftermarket , vipec or autronic looking the favourites as there mark sheads chosen ecus and hes been rounning coil on plug setups on a few cars now , but ill look at any ecu that can do the job ??????

Rob,
cheers rob , bearing faces were a peice of piss , i simply used a scotchbrite wheel ( bought off ebay ) and ran it in the drill and buffed the faces , little squirt of d40 works wonders ,

advanteges to c-o-p basically being a stronger spark , no need to be swapping out plug leads ect

also looks clean as fooook and im going for a ultra clean bay ...

evening folks ,,

made a start on the hubs today ... aim of the game was to strip them down and check them over before blasting ,

so 1 pair of granada 5 stud 2wd front hubs and a pair of 5 stud rear flanges ...

big thanks to rob big thanks to robrs2 for the hubs !!

couple of the studs missing but dosent matter , there all being replaced anyway ,

into the vice , rear caps off ,

socket and a breaker bar later they were undone lol , not after me riving on them lol , before spesh said i was pulling the wrong way ! stupid left hand thread lol !!!

anyway got them split

cleaned up the taper bearing races cleaned up and are mint !! - had spesh knock them out as i can be a bit heavy handed lol

as with the locknut , abs ring , and inner and outer taper bearings and races all degreased and cleaned

pukka skf bearings , like new ! so thats a bit of a result saves me buying new

so with that done cleaned up the flanges

then masked up

duct tape for protection when blasting

paired up

rear flanges recived same treatment

collected my comp struts and and adjustable tca's from home , they will be stripped tomoz ready to be blasted along with the hubs ,

hoping to get down to mk motorsport later in the week and collect the billet rear hubs , link arms for the cradel ect

will also make a start on the rack and crossmember with a bit of luck !

beef
