ok folks , been a busy day and we hit the ground running ![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
plan was to get on with the back end ,
so first up was remove the boot floor ,
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010004.jpg)
k took the oppertunity to have a little dance in the boot![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010006.jpg)
then unfortunately ,,,,,,,,,,,, karl slipped and the inner wheel tub was suddenly unpicked![Rolling Eyes](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010007.jpg)
i then started cleaning up the outer arch and it happend again !!!
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010018.jpg)
the chassis leg on pass side suddenly fell off at ever specific spotweld
![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010009.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010011.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010010.jpg)
so with the chassis leg off , it mays well go get shotblasted tomorrow
so , me and k then had an idea lol .........
seeing as the tubs off and the chassis legs off ,
why dont we make a little more space for the wheels ????
so we did![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
the factory inner wheel tbu was cut to be sectioned ,
making up the section fillet template ,
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010023.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010024.jpg)
karl gave me a pat on the back for the spiffing idea ,
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010022.jpg)
the cunt !!! had it on me back for 4 hrs !!!
so then the card template was taped up to get an idea
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010028.jpg)
then the lip taped to the other side of the card fillet and offerd back in place ,
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010031.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010029.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010030.jpg)
so how a stock left looks , ( taken form same position on inner door frame
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010044.jpg)
and the new right lol
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010045.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010035.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010036.jpg)
and a quick measurement from inner tub face to outer arch![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
standard
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010038.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010039.jpg)
new![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010040.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010046.jpg)
so feeling rather pleased with ourselves , got on with removing the drivers rear arch
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010047.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010049.jpg)

![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010057.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010055.jpg)
the chassis leg will be removed tomorrow, and off for blasting with the other one ,
then disaster struck , just when everything was flying , the fucking shit hit the fan and a probem that had the whole project in jepoardy !!! the dreaded rust![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010013.jpg)
for a moment i thought id have to sell up pmsl
found a hole in the lower pass inner rear arch section , size of a 50 pence peice , its touch and go wether k has the skills to repair it ,
![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
so the tubs have been given three inches , and the chassis legs will be moved in the same , and a new lip added to suit the wheel tub to make it all look factory ,
i mean yeah tubbings not new , and anyone can get some sheet steel and make two plain tubs ,
but our goal is to have someone look at it ( who aint read this ) and think " thats not right .........how the fucks he got them wheels in there i cant see what hes done "
hence why were trying to make it look factory![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
so when it goes bk in , it will look like this
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010002.jpg)
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update9-11-2010003.jpg)

Looking good beefy ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
Just one thing though, having tubbed the arches this will alter the angle of the shock.
Will the shock not now determine the size of wheel you can fit or will you alter the position of the lower mounting point as well or is it not going to be a issue?

gav the cars running a wrc style rear , laqteral link setup ,
so the shock mounts and the tops mounts will be both modified to suit the larger wheels
the shock towers in pic will be removed and my new custom adjustables fitted ,
going to see what we can get in there , 9s shouldnt be an issue ,
but 10s would be nice lol

you`d get 10" in beef but the offset would have to be sumit strange like et60 or machine the inside face back to bring the wheel inover

yeah wenny were going to have a look at wheels and offsets ,
think im going to try and sweettalk warren into borroing one of his 18x9 et45s and offering it in the arch to give us a gud idea of what we got ,
still the outer arch to go on yet so bit of playing about getting the wheel to where we want it ,
ohh ill be up later this eve with them keys mate

so with the steel there ,it was time to fab up the first tub ,
sheet was cut to rough size and then template marked and taped ,
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update10-11-2010002.jpg)

![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update10-11-2010006.jpg)

yeah daz , thats the advantage to lateral link setup ,
i can put the wheel hub ect where i want and then mod the links to correct length ,
popped bk to karls ,
hes been bk in the gargae for an hour
tub in , floor modded and tub at correct height
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update10-11-2010pt2002.jpg)
you can see here where karls cut the floor back hes added a downward lip to the leading edge, to allow it to be spotwelded bk in per factory

![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update10-11-2010pt2003.jpg)
here the front sections of the inner lip will be profiled together to suit
![](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f227/bigdogengland/the%20cossie%20s1%20project/update10-11-2010pt2006.jpg)
and how it looks in car
to the floor where the seat will be

hi love the work going on!!, um what are you doing to do about the seat panel ? the chassis legs are to wide for the new position! wouldnt it have been easier if you cut 6" out of the centre?, just thought that would look more factory, if only a little bit narrower lol, ps karl i a tin work wisard

the chassis legs are being moved in the same amount as the tubs billy ,
cant just cut 6 in out the middle fella , the tubs would still need modifying ,
seats are easy , just a bit of modding to the backs and there being re coverd in black leather anyway ,
keep watching and youll see how we do them lol
im sure karl appriceates your praise mate

thanks for the reply, and yes changing it all, as you said wings, front and rear panels, scuttle and front crossmember, keep picking bits up going to start it after xmas now, and yes going to cossy it, so its going to be semi striped anyway, noticed you and others have removed the wings when restoring and my car needs new ones so thats half the job done, got the car cheap so what the panels will cost will be what i would of paid for a mk3 too, and when its done it will be new almost, going to sell the mk4 bits and engine and throw the money back in to it, got a few ideas for looks but like you keeping it secret lol, if you have any advise or ideas to help with the cosworth floor etc would be great
cheers jamie
cheers jamie
