Well done a little more:
Started off with a little more on the dash - some tidying up was needed:
Then on to the fuel system.
Stripped back the connectors on the top of the tank to accept Aeroquip -6 push fit hose:
Then set to on the swirl pot lines - found all my old black quip from my last project so used some of that as i found that there are very few places suitable to pass lines through the floor!
Bulkhead connectors passed through the floor:
Connected:
From the underside:
Loom has gone back to Fraser @ Prometheus for final adjustments - big thankyou to him for squeezing it into his busy schedule!
More as it happens!

Looking good Will, are you only running one filter before the fuel pump and none after? Also where did your black aeroquip come from and are they for teflon lined pipe?

Rick - running my pre pump filter in the boot and will run my pre rail filter in the engine bay (ultimately).
Black aeroquip came from Webster Race Engineering (ask for Ian Marshall).
Pipe isn't teflon lined - i've not personally experienced a car with short lines on a setup like mine breathing heavily but it is something i may ultimately change.
Got a little more done today:
Got the fuel feed bulkhead fitting in (the focus really does lack places to put these things through!):
Made up the pump output to bulkhead line:
And underneath:
Ready for final P-clipping:

Just an open question to all....why do people (not you specifically, Will) use the expensive aeroquip teflon/ptfe lined for long under-car runs? I can't see any particular advantage compared to using a solid pipe as per oem? Also surely a solid pipe offers better fire-resistance than the braided hose; is immune from chaffing/wear and is less likely to be punctured/split?

Consistent internal diameter through - no changes, step downs, step ups etc.
The fittings are far more secure than just jubilee clips - all my high pressure stuff is on aeroquip.
Hard pipes are succeptable to permanent damage - if you clip a speed bump at an angle, a hard pipe can be crimped and restricted, a braided hose will maybe suffer some damage to the braid but the rubber inside won't deform.

All good points. I suppose it therefore boils down to personal preference? What you say about a solid pipe being squashed and restricted is possibly the strongest point in favour of hoses, I guess, as it could potential cause the engine to run lean?
Did you get the dash wiring info through ok?
Hope all is going well

Well, fuel lines are now P-clipped in place throughout:
Fuel feed into the rail:
Regulator mocked up:
Magnetic oil drain plug for the gearbox:
5 Litres of this later...
And the wiring loom came back from Fraser - really pleased with his work!
And once i've confirmed the final pin out i can terminate the mating half myself:
Planning to crack on with the wiring tomorrow!

deutsch Autosport.
dont expect them to be Ł5 a plug a 37 way connector is about Ł50 per side.
also you need suitable crimpers if you dont have them, which im guessing you dont, so another Ł300 +

Great work as always! Quick q: what power will it be running without nitrous you think?
And I also read back before and couldn't work it out but why have you chosen to do away with the VVT?
Cheers!

depends on what ones are used, as there are 5 different key ways.
think there are about 10 different AS stlyes.
just done a loom with 25 deutsch connectors, good damn that wasnt cheap
will car looks proper cool mate, your certainly not cutting any corners which is really nice to see.

Not sure if it's the same but I bled my impreza clutch the other day and had no pedal, turns out the bleed nipple has to be at highest point of slave cylinder (which means unbolting it and tipping it up while bleeding so the air goes to the top and the nipple)
As I say, may not be the same but you never know!
Nice work by the way.

So, after sorting the clutch and rebleeding it and the brakes...
Cracked on with the wiring
Battery is now located in the boot so completed all the relocation wiring:
Wiring behind the dash and is protected with convolute for the kill switch:
The switched ignition fuse box for all the ancilliaries:
Anyone want to finish off for me?
Last day on it tomorrow so we'll see what that brings!

Sooo - this afternoons progress
Decided to fit the EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) probe while i could - save having to do it later...
Step 1 - Cut back heatwrap and drill hole:
Step 2 - Hammer fitting into hole to ensure gas tight fit!
Step 3 - TIG weld:
Step 4 - Fit probe:
Step 5 - Rewrap area and spray with heat seal paint:
Step 6 - Refit to car:
Next task was the Laminova oil to water heat exchanger - fitted the adaptors into the take off plate:
Made a mock up water hose and trial fitted the cooler:
Started on the lines:
And fitted the new oil temp and oil pressure sensors:
Fitted new oil filter complete with Black Hole filter magnets:
So by the end of the afternoon:
Will update more as it happens!
