Is the heatshrink not a little stiff once shrunk, will? Or is it special flexible stuff?

Its Raychem DR25, its pretty flexible when shrunk but the easiest thing to do is when the loom goes in the car is to just warm it back up again and it will then adopt the natural position when routed.

Depending on how much you need really depends where to buy it from. Some places sell it by the metre, others sell it in reels.

I'd probably have shrunk and sealed everything only once I knew the loom was tested, everything was definitely the right length, pins properly inserted/locked and so on, makes rework a lot easier.

Normally I do the boots and glue at the very end too. On this occasion I desperately needed some build photos for a university assignment so did them part way through. All of the terminations were checked and a resistance/continuity test performed. I had one pin that wasn't latching properly so removed it and re-inserted it in a spare location before booting.

Also, i've not yet drilled the hole in the bulkhead so if for whatever reason I have ended up a few mm out, it's easily rectified

great effort will and iam looking forward to seeing it go , did you know that theres a 60mm and a 70mm diffuser for the jenvey plenum? 70mm was used on a high powered evo engine , they made it about 2 weeks after i ordered mine but said they would swap it which was a bonus

keep up the great work

cheers paul

Hi Paul,

Yes, the one i'm mocking up my loom on has the 70mm one, ideal really as my throttle body is 68mm!

only problem with dymo machines is they burn the letters onto the tape which is quite heat sensitive so if you arent careful you will end up turning your label black when you run a heat gun over the clear heat shrink.
