Norwegian trackday sapphire, small x-mas rollcage-update 23.12.11
alanfordtw-15: thanks, it's the only way i can afford this hobby
hoping to rewire the whole car and add some trick suspension next winter
miller3: thanks, the cage was one of my better upgrades.
ordered some more silicone-hoses now, along with the summit-order on about 1600$....january is gonna be a hard month

it's hard to say, considering that i mounted Gaz Gold on the same time that the cage went in. but the body seems very rigid and "dead" if you know what i mean.
will probably add some more bars in the spring to get the car classed in motorsport.

almost all holes that are not needed are now welded in the enginebay, along with a 4" pipe that will be used with the new placing of the air-filter.

next thing will be to weld new brackets to my new custom front strutbrace

well, got the siliconehoses today, and i'm very pleased with the quality!
was worried that they would be to short in the ends, but i think it would be alright.

the tracking-number for the summit-parts says that the parts will be here tomorrow, not so sure but that would be cool

i hope so
the thing is, my current turbo (a Presicion SC44) is gonna be replaced with a Garrett GT of some kind, when i get the cash to it. those turbos have a 4" inlet, and this is the reason for the sizeable hoses
only need to replace the reducer-hose when the new turbo gets installed.

just waiting for the air-filter, fuel-filters, cambelt and fuelpumps now
done some more under the car now, almost all of the thick stonechip-mass is gone, also almost finished with the holes in the enginebay.
been quite busy lately, had to get the ice-car ready for it's first (and maybe last?) event on a frozen lake this weekend. a xr4x4 bought for about Ł150
gonna have a lot of fun for the cash
will post some pictures of this later on.

will post before and after pictures soon, along with a video-clip
anyway, was a short trip in the workshop today, and got started on the brackets for the pedalbox.

need to make a bracket to mount the box upwards now, but didn't feel so good today...

fuel pumps are now on the way
was about to order cambelt and fuel filters from Woodford, but he doesn't have gr.a. belts in stock for about 2 weeks, so that would have to wait

i'm sure he is, loader, but i've always dealt with Simon @ woodford and because of his prices, service and knowledge i'm gonna keep with it
no rush getting these parts either, and i'll probably find something more to order from him anyway
also, my new airfilter came today, gonna to a trail-fit it tomorrow and see i'f my plan works

well, got som more done in the engineroom now, placed the air-filter in the fender and it looks great. welded up a new strut-brace with brackets and made a bracket for the pedal-box. also re-inforced the area around the throttle-pedal, as i think they are pretty poor on the sierra (LHD anyway). some various pictures:

but, me mind keep wondering these days, is there any other mod i should do before paint? i think i have it all covered now, but you never now. and when it's painted it's to late!
all i know of now is that i want some brackets to the map-sensor and fuel pressure reg.
so, does anyone have any tips that i should do before paint?

the map will go on the cage that goes to the front left turret.
lower the centre of gravity?!? lol, moving the engine 4 cm backwards will have to do
got my 2 new 044 fuel pumps the other day, cheap from australia.
been doing some more on the underside of the car, but nothing worth taking pictures of really. also all welding in the enginebay is now finished, only the prep-work left, filling/sanding/filling/sanding/etc/etc.....
will do some more on the underside, before i start making brackets and so for the fuelcell-setup

weeeell, okay a small update then!
been really busy with some other cars last weeks but yesterday i and a friend finally got some work done.
the boot floor is fully welded in place, and the fuelcell is mounted, along with a bracket for the fuelpumps/filters and battery setup.
piccies!!

only issue that occured is that the plate that i made for the fuelpumps and battery was to thin. made it in 1mm steel, but it quickly turned out to be waaay to weak, so i'm gonna make a new one in 3mm steel me thinks
also, cambelt, fuelfilter x2, 20m of black samco vacum-hose, collins 2wd enginemounts and some other parts are now on the way from Simon @ Woodford
