Norwegian trackday sapphire, small x-mas rollcage-update 23.12.11
thanks for the comments guys, it's really coming together now.
the main harness is now 90% done, only need to get it in the car now to see how the wires will be.
have taken about 2/3 of the harness now, it's sooo much easyier to work on! only lights, heater and windshield wipers are remaning!
if everything goes as planned it's gonna be startet in this weekend, maybe even a test drive? only time will tell, haha!

okai, havn't had time to update this thread this summer, but here is a short summary and some pics of this years driving and so on...
first of all, a follower collapsed 2 days before dyno-day.

a whole lot of luck later (and some good friends that drove 40 mil in the morning to get new parts) and the car was ready for the dyno.

375hp ATW, 460 nm. 1.8 bar boost.
and the newfound power made a shitload of gearboxnoise at 240 kmt and this was the result.

just took the remaning parts out and drove all summer without firth gear...got a new on now.

a series of pictures from the norwegian ford-meet at rudskogen

and some general hooling around pictures, followed by some photoshoot's

plans for this winter is to strip all the undersealing and paint it white underneath, fresh up the enginebay and some other changes in the front.
also gonna convert it to E85 fuel with 2 pumps, fuelcell and a whole lot more.
the car is pretty much stripped on the outside now, and the boot floor is cut out.

RS-Stian; i'm probably gonna use a heathergun and some kind of tool to peel the undersealing off. the car is going on a jigg so that i can turn the car over. no way that i'm gonna lye on a cold concrete floor doiing that job

Mark_1; because it's RWD, not FWD

dyno, and when you get the car on a rolling road later, with all the car'a ancilliaries such as exhaust, intercooler, pipes and so on, the engine drops to around 400-450 bhp.
it also shows up at drag-strips. several "500bhpextremecossies" gets their asses kicked by a good stage3 cossie....
i want a REAL 500 bhp car.

well, the engine, gearbox and front suspension has come off today, and the enginebay is totally stripped and ready for a good makover
Rod; wasn't meaning to, seems like most people dyno their engine with almost nothing connected... even more cred to you and MAD for the impressive figures you have!
would be really interesting to see your car hooked up on a hub-dyno tho...

well, a small update this time.
havn't had so much spare-time as i want these days, but atleast i got the time to make myself a jigg/rotisserie(?) for the car. gonna help soooo much with the underbody-resto

Lovin' the jig/spit... wish I had been able to use one when I done the underside of mine, it will be so much easier than laying on your back!!!
Keep 'em coming

Frode: yes, hopefully the car will be ready for next spring.

--------------
will do a bigger update later this week, but here are some pictures of the gearbox, a Tremec TR-3550

compared to the old t5

together with the box i got a propshaft(that needs to be shortened, as i am moving the engine backwards), a 4-paddle clutch, a hydraulic release-bearing and a bracket

FrodeH: it's pretty much the same, just the lever that sits further front on the box, but as i'm moving the engine backwards it shouldn't be a problem. i know that other guys that have the engine in the standard position needs to cut out a small section at the front of the transmission-tunnell.
RS-Stian, thanks m8, no problem booking a seat, just give me a shout

some pictures:

about half of the undersealing is now gone, and the right side of the enginebay is almost finished welded. found a few places of rust, but nothing major

Cool, looking forward to it
Nice progress on the car too. I'm fookin freaking out peeling the underseal off on mine lying on a cold floor with my head just a few centimetres from the floor pan. God I'm jealous at your jig mate...

thanks, fiesta xr3i, would classify this build as crazy tho, just a little out of the ordinary.
ps; Gatebil sucks!
stuck on summits website now, it's quite hard to order all an-couplings and so just by memory and thinking......thank god Carlsberg is here to help out
