My 3dr Cosworth project updated (16.01.12)*
#441
Hi guys, sorry i have not updated this for ages had pretty much given up on getting the car done but this is what has been happening.
will be all carbon panelled off, but there will be a inspection cover so can show it off when needed
Turbo is now on
We are going to see if we can get 265's under the rear arches
To compare with the 235's that are on at the minute
Hope you all like, it is actually further on but i have no recent pics

Well i finally got myself into gear and made the trip down to see the car.
Was good to see that some work had been done, lol, but was still looking sorry for itself.
Pics not really in any particular order
New alloy rad and fans
The alloy around the boot latch will be painted black to match the carbon better
Seat mounts welded in
Fuel lines coming throught from tank
run internally up to engine bay
External wastegate pipe rejoining the main exhaust
For the new fuel filler, Steve was not happy doing this incase it went wrong or i changed my mind, lol
The car is in need of a good clean and these are to show just how bad it is at the moment
Had a good chat with Steve and he is going to get the car finished so i can take it home with 12months MOT for the 6th sept so that will be the next update.
Thanks for looking and hope you like.

nice car mate done a wicked job there mate were id you get the carbon wind mirrors from i been after a set for ages. and the braided pipes and fixings, and fuel pressure regulator
#459
The mirrors i just had the original covers covered in carbon (it is just a laminate)
The Braided hoses and fixings are from all over, some of the fittings are from Adrenaline Race and Performance, all the fuel pipe and fittings are from Reyland as this stuff is supposed to not allow fuel smell through and A1 Rally Sport have supplied the rest
HTH

At the minute
Standard 1.8Gti
Janspeed Power Rohr
Janspeed Mild steel 4 Branch
Janspeed Stainless system
In the next few weeks it is going 2.0L 16v with ported large port head so should be good for 160-165bhp but it only weighs in at 840kg (book figure, if i remember correctly) so should be quite nippy

Just a quick update of the state of play.
The car runs again, got a call of Steve with it running, sounds very cammed up so thats all good, thats the good news out the way, lol
Couldn't collect the car on the 6th due to the car being at the engineers as there was some problems with the boost hoses and we are going for metal ones as Steve thought the silicone ones looked crap, lol.
Also the car went for a MOT and...................it was an epic failure.
New rear calipers have been now been fitted.
Also Steve has found some rot that the body shop when they had it have hidden with seam sealant so that has all been dug out ready to be welded up.
Had a different oil breather fitted that sits in the battery tray.
Will get some pics up as soon as Steve emails me the pics to show how much of a shed my car is

Not updated this for ages so here is a few pics
Bit of a mess from the winter roads, lol
Cleaned
Few bits changed under the bonnet, just needs a bit of paint on struts and a tidy up.
Was on the rollers last week just running low boost as we couldn't get the injectors we wanted in time.
Comments welcome

I love it mate, think i need some better tyres as there is no grip till 3rd in the dry
Pulls really clean all the way to the red and is pretty drivable at low speeds considering its got big cams etc
Just want to get the suspension set up and tracking done etc now.
Will get the inside all sorted once i recieve a package from your good self

Didn't get round to sorting the 265's plus i sold my wider wheels.
Need to mod the arches as it is as the 235's have burned a hole through the kit as it squats quite hard and catches
Cheers matey, bit of a shock at first as its been a while since i drove it.
Had to sell the Mk1 unfortunatly, but 3 cars was abit much, lol
