shaaaaadap!
anyhow, lil update lol
basically, i was a bit stuck for an exhaust manifold, and steve had a loads of XS power goodness sent in for his 200sx, but as hes putting a V8 into it, he dont need it no more... sooooooooo after borrowing the manifold, i took it home and laid up the zetec exhast manifold gasket on it...
low and behold the ports line up near enough perfectly, sooo an adaptor plate will be made and the lot bolted on!
checkit!
Heres the top mount tubular manifold with external wastegate take off.
Looks about as well made so far as any other ive seen on the market, and thats enough of them. Maybe the quality has improved, who knows.
and there is a takeoff boss which is handy so i can measure backpressure.
This is the extension pipe from the wastegate take off to the wastegate, note the bracing on that too
This is an XSP adjustable fuel pressure reg. looks remarkably like the areomotive stuff lol
Heres the external wastegate and all the gubbins, looks a bloody well made bit of kit.
Heres the turbo.
Going by wheel sizes etc id say its good for 500bhp+, so should be plenty
The exhaust flange is a nice v-band setup, and the a downpipe to adapt and v-band clamp came with the kit
Oh ill tell you one thing too, nobody can say the kit isnt comprehensive! Foooookin look at it all!

ok, im gonna try and get it at least running for Ford Fair now, sooo i got 9 WEEKS to do it!
can it be done?
little progress this sat, got all the hubs etc on now, just got to fit the long studs for the 20mm spacers to get rid of the gay sierra offset!
off with the old, and on with the 3dr ones
trial fit of 20mm spacers
and thats all the pics i took lol
rear beam is all bolted up properly now
but ive lost the ARB brackets that mount it to the car, so Paul north yorks is sending me some this week
im going to go up to Reyland this thursday hopefully, and strip the enigne, Martin can then measure the piston ring gaps and hopefully ill be able to rebuild it all in one day and bring it back with me.
then, if all goes to plan i can get the engine in the car and get it ready to take to get the intercooler, rad, and fuel cell - but i dont know where from just yet!
then after that, its just plumbing in, getting a custom plenum made up, and then wiring the biatch up...
then map and run in
i got plenty of time
can it be done?

Fleet Manager
iive seen a std 200sx gasket used on a mk6 rs2000 14 lump mate of mine bought it off jayson hodd when we took it off to change a gasket it was basically spot on with no adapter plate

erm, i didnt measure the piston ring gaps as the machine shop said they would be ok!
but for the cost of about Ł60 for new head gasket and bolts, id be silly not to take it apart and measure them properly!
well, martins gonna do that bit
you can have a look if the car makes it lol, if not we'll still be there so come on over

well i went up to reyland yesterday and stripped the engine and measured the gaps....
its all still there
the ring gaps are a bit bit, so im getting some new rings that will hopefully sort it!
and Martin cc'd the head, so he could calculate the CR. and he found that the 7.8:1 CR i asked for was in fact 8.77:1!
so i have to get 1.5mm chopped off the top of the pistons.
luckily we found this out now, than if i had turned the key and fucked the whole engine, so hat off to Martin for offering to look at it for m, its saved me a LOT of money

nice project you got there dan
take my hat off to you m8 coming along a treat
been keeping tab's on it through fast ford cracking mag !!!
ps could you do a article in ff on zetec turbo's from budget jobs up to mega buck jobs
which parts and bits are needed etc
tech info like block boring to maching oilways etc for turbo surply
also where parts can be got eg (c20let pistons)
and prices
also a good section on ecu choices would be great
which turbos's to choose
what boost pressures to use eg (on std zetec internals etc)
if not to much trouble to ask m8
keep up the hard work
