If you want to try and avoid that kind of crowd, i've found midweek is best, usually a Tues/Wed night, saying that... i've not really had any bother any nights while out with the camera (touch wood )

Hi Red16,
You take some great pictures, what camera are you using, thread like this have encouraged me to buy a manotto tripod and a few other bits for my D40, l am looking at a Sigma lense that goes to 500 and also a wide angle, currently l have an 18-55 and a 55-200 but have found that l can not get close enough with the 200 at sporting events.

Cheers Mike
I've got a Nikon D60 with 18-55mm VR and 55-200mm VR kit lenses, the majority of my photos are taken with the 18-55.
I'd love a longer lens and also a wider lens, will acquire them when the funds allow, my next buy will probably be something like a Tokina 12-24mm lens or a Sigma 10-20mm.
I can vouch for the quality of Manfrotto tripods, theyre great cheapest place i've seen them is on ebay, i got a Manfrotto 190XB tripod & 804RC2 head for Ł109.95 inc delivery at the start of October.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Perhap's nothing to special for you lot to look at lol. But I'd spent atleast 45 min's trying to get a decent pic of the rabbit with no luck. Then just as I took this pic the rabbit just hopped up next to my son. No skill just luck.

Thanks for your connets lads!
Nope it wasn't cheap...Intended to get the 450d with a couple of lenses.....but then went nuts.... Think its got someting to do with wanting to make things better and faster..lol!!
I got the 17-85 IS USM lens with it but also have a 28-200 USM from my old eos300 35mm camera. Think its a fair starting point to go from!?

Thanks mate..
I've done the 35mm film for long enough, so I thought it was about time to move on!
Don't know how long 28-200 will last..we'll see! I was looking at the 70-300 is usm too...but then my credit card told me where to go!

Yeah, ive seen some very good reviews on it! It's also cheaper than the 17-85 lens that i'm getting with the 50d. The bonus being it has the IS function for whn you've been on the drink the night before! haha!

pcressie - always the same... you wait patiently for the animal to sit in a decent pose but they never do until you put the camera down

I've been out again with the camera tonight, but cut the trip short as it was absolutely freezing. Here are the results of tonights exposure to the bitterness...
