Default Mini project starts tonight!!!! (Updated-Finished)

Hi everybody,

Here's a few pitures..........

After months of waiting for parts and generally being busy myself i will be starting my little project tonight

As usual leaving it very late again got to be ready for Ford Fair. Should be done really, but can see a few late nights before next Sunday ha ha!!

Got to............

Remove all the old stuff and replace with,
New braided brake lines
New brake calipers
New discs and pads
Full new suspension set up
New set of wheels
New under bonnect shinny stuff

Besides that i've got to,

Fix the drivers side locking mechanism as it keeps locking itself,
Put the window back on the runner,
Steam clean the engine bay,
And then a t-cut and polish polish and more polish!!!

Will take a few pictures as i go along, for those who are interested can keep an eye out on how i do

Cheers

Darren

The weekend didn't go as well as planned

Due to some unforseen reasons (mainly a quick pint at tea time turning into a tea time /night session ) progress took a knock on the head!!

But did manage to get a few things done

Taped up and painted the rear opening window buttons,

Went round the car and touched up any stone chips or marks,

Applied the primer coat to all the under bonnet bits that needed a re-paint and hung them up to dry,

Started on the suspension, got the front old suspension off and got one new leg in and replaced the plastic inner arch with a nice new one !!

Had to stop then as the girlfriend was back off her holiday

Sorry got no pictures as the batteries died on me. Picking up some new parts from Ford today, so will get some new batteries and be back working on her tonight (the car not the girlfriend !!ha) with some pictures tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!!

Well here we go......................

Been a funny old week but made some good progress now and can finally see a bit of the light, in time for Sunday!!

Firstly early on in the week went around the car with my trusty 'touch-up' stick and filled in the chips. (wanted the paint to have as long as possible to dry before cleaning it )

Also I taped up and resprayed the pop out window buttons, well chuffed with the result!! (even though the picture doesn't show )

I must again apologise for the poor quality of the pictures as my camera is on the blink and am forced to use my camera on my video camera which has no flash!!!

Rant over on with the show, Also sprayed the random parts to go back uner the bonnet

Then got stuck into cleaning the samcos and other various bits that will be going back under the bonnet on Saturday.......

Cleaned and reoiled the K&N's...................

Changed all corners of the suspension with nice new shockers and springs well chuffed with the result, even if it did cause a few grazed knuckles and a lot of bad language !!

Old.......

One for the bin!!!!................

Sitting pretty ......

Then a few parts turned up from ford, new header tank, ht lead seperator, new calipers, few bits and bobs..........

you don't think that there that bad til you put them side by side! Ha

Then last night I got stuck into these beauties...................

After a few head scratches and a cup of tea...........................

New Discs, pads, calipers and new braided hoses

I know you can't see on the picture but i'm really chuffed with the briaded hoses, look sooooo much better than the old stock ones and make the arch look super

Also fitted new braided hoses to the rear drums but camera battery died so you'll have to believe me on that one!! ha ha

Got Friday and Saturday now to get the engine bits back in, t-cut and polish polish polish!!!

Having a night off the car tonight as need to do the electrics on the new extension back to it on Friday!! (What's the saying, no rest for the wicked!!! )

I also want to say a bit THANK YOU to DanRs Helping me out buy fetching parts for me at my becon call and generally help when I'm stuck!! Also StickerPaul for making the centre badges for my new wheels!! Superstar!!!

Post update on friday/saturday, hope you enjoy the read

Well what a rush to get the car finished for Ford Fair on Sunday (that's sweat not tears) Managed to get Friday off work, so got up early and got stuck into the car.

Stared of by renewing the cable with new tape and red cable ties (just give the engine that little finishing touch )

Old.....

New........

Then began to add the finishing touches to the boot install, went for something nice and sensible not too over the top........

While the rain stopped pushed her outside to give the interior a scrub up, put the new wheel on aswell

Wa1ker came round to show me his new motor and see how the progress was coming on.....

Love the new RS matey!!!

Put the car away then ready for a full day's polishing on Saturday

Saturday went well putting all the little finishing bits together and a serious cleaning and buffing session. Here are some pictures of the finished product before it went back in the garage for Sunday, hope you enjoy.....................................

Well that's it all done!!!

So chuffed that I finally finished it!!!

Want to say a big thanks to all the people that helped me through the last 3 weeks DanRs, Cossie Dave 1, Wa1ker, StickerPaul and last but not least Danielle (the Mrs) for putting up with me!!

See you all bright and early at the show!!!!!
