Default big problem insuring the porker!

Got a problem with gaining insurance ,my policy run's till end of month, but the current underwriters wont insure me on a 3.2 boxster ,and if I end the policy early then my protected 5 years no claims gets wiped out , cos the no claims is applied to the car not driver ! and even if I go with another insurance company they said I would still have to wait till end of month to transfer WTF ! and when she did give a quote it was about 1,400 bit fekking steep ! so I cant wait 3 weeks to insure a car I can buy by next week and when I can insure I think 1,400 is to high any Idears as to what I can do ?????

yeah, its not worth cancelling for the sake of 2 weeks. then shop around for better quotes with your 5 years no claims.

ive never believed paying extra to have protected no claims means your premium wont be effected if you do have a bump.its still on your record and must have an effect.
i dont know your personal circumstances but i dont understand why they wont even quote you on a boxter?

keep your existing insurance until the end of the month, but take out a new policy on the porsche now so they overlap?

get on gumtree, buy a shitter for a couple of hundered quid with t and t, run that a couple of weeks, then sell it on or scrap it when you can insure the boxster.

I dont get it myself the point of insurance is the fact things do go wrong ! and if you think about what you pay over the years compaired to what you claim I must of spent over 15 grand on insurance and claimed only 7 back thats a lot of profit by anyones standard ,I must be cosidered too high a risk I guess ?

As above go to another company and insure with no claims you have, but declare the claim. Then agree to send them proof of no claims at end of month. Don't think it will be a problem. But as you have just made a claim some of the cheaper company's probably won't cover you.

that would probably void his insurance if they ever found out, the no claims bonus is still active on the skoda policy, so cant be applied to another.

some companies may mirror no claims, but in these circumstances i doubt they would

Its the driver who builds the no claims not the car!!!

If you havn't bought the porsche yet then simple answer is don't buy a porsche, buy a car your insurance company won't screw you over with. Thought you were after a diesel anyway thats cheap for parts??

PS. No insurance company is going to want to insure you on a 3.2ltr porsche immediately after you've crashed a 1.8ltr skoda, especially if the accident has been deemed your fault.

Do you have any evidence to argue your inocence such as oil spill on the road or was it just wet?

Yer Im going to try them again cos so much of what she said sounds odd ,an yer your right on many points just been thinking with my heart not my head ! must be a mid life crisis thing ! but the porsche would have made an awesome crisis all the same.

Yep, Porsche is definately a good crisis

Good luck, maybe speak to someone else next time you ring. Always helps to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about as whoever you spoke to sounds like they were talking crap.
