It's getting towards that time again. Never tried them before. Are they worth a try ? Anyone got insurance with them ? What discount do they give for RSOC members ? cheeRS

I have my track mk5 Escort insured with them, all mods declared, which is quite a long list!

Limited milage of around 3500 I think, but i'm never going to get close to that

I'm 43 years old with full ncd and this cost me just under £300 fully comp with track day break down cover/damage

My escort cosworth is insured with them just now , also used them when I had my saff and s1 too

Great prices and you know where you'll stand in the event of a claim with them

I insure my saff 4x4 cosworth with boncaster. 1500 mile limited mileage and last year I paid £163.00. Inc breakdown and Rsoc track days!

All apart from one year I have been with them since I bought my car 10 years ago very good imo, as said good cover at agreed value, cover for RSOC track day events, break down cover worth a call

it is worth trying need2insure too and go with whoevers cheaper etc, as last year they quoted me £310 on a rs2000 4x4 and when i asked need2insure they did it for £211

To be honest thats quite bad advice

when buying insurance Price is not the most important thing

No point in paying cheap prices and having poor cover on a high value car

If your running an old winter shitter then cheap is ok , but the amount of money some ford people spend on there cars and then get cheap insurance is silly

Like anything in life , You get what you pay for ,and as said above Boncaster have proved themselfs many times that they are good at paying out on agreed values

Boncaster are good at paying out granted, but they are a lot more fussy on the cars they will allow an agreed value on now. In fact all insurers are and most have stopped doing agreed value especially if its a modified car.

boncaster for me year in year out ,piece of mind if the worse should happen ive always used the rsoc approved scheme's from back in the sennoke " spelling" days , my last S1 with 1500 ltd miles came in at under £100 ,ive known a good few Rs500 owners who have made claims and never had any issues , one even geting a larger
pay out than his agreed valuation as values had risen thanks to the registra ( good work sir ) , there are cheaper insurance firms out there , but Boncaster for me all the way

its a option thats all as when I looked at my renewal from boncaster, paul matched everything policy wise for a cheaper premuim, but I do understand what you mean if the policy covers less etc and its fair comment

Insurance will always be better for one than it is for another with certain insurers

All im saying is dont just go for the cheapest as its cheap until you claim then you will regret not paying a little extra for better cover

Im with You Daz , Boncaster have always proved there as good as there word and as you say have even paid 500 owners more than there agreed value due to rises in the values since there valuation was done

just got my renewal through with boncaster and its exactly the same as last year £215, nobody else could get near that last year so not even going to bother ringing around this year, ill just renew

I'm waiting for my renewal and i've had quotes £70 cheaper than i paid with my current insurer last year, so unless my renewal is much lower than last year the i'll be leaving them. Think i'll defo give Boncaster a ring when i get chance. Thanks guys

Just had the renewal. Gone up £40 !!! S1 with a few sensible mods now coming in at a shade under £300 Insured the family Volvo S60 fully comp, 2 drivers, same value, unlimited miles (with breakdown) for less. I'm 43. S1 on a 4000 miles policy and accident free since 1988 !!! Safe to say i'll be changing insurer this year

£300? 99% of the users here would KILL to have a premium that low!! I am 31 with 13 years NCB, an old 3 points Sp30, great postcode, good job, yet my Escos was untouchable by most insurers, Flux wanted £900+, only need to insure have been remotely sensible!

At my age (43) good postcode, cat1, garaged at home address, didn't expect it to go up 40 quid when i'm an existing customer.I think £300 is a tad excessive. It's not a cossie

I pay less than £200 on a stage 1 3 door cossie with boncaster, tried shopping around but couldn't beat it, age 43 in a Birmingham postcode

i'm 36 with 6 years ncd on my series 2 with a merseyside postcode and boncaster charge me 215 in december all mods declared so well happy with that, the way things are going next year road tax is likely to be more than insurance

Don't you have to be a member of the RSOC to have a decent priced policy with Boncaster?

Also judging by the cheap fiqures quoted above i'm guessing they are for a classic policy? Hence no no claims earned/needed?

you can still get a quote off boncaster but will need to be a rsoc member to take the policy. if they can save you £100 then its worth the rsoc membership fee
